Thank you Ann and Leanne for your wonderful tour of the historic York Town Hall. Your commentary was delightful and so informative. We all learnt so much from you both and laughed at the little gems you threw in from time to time. I certainly have now been referring to a glass or two, as a "cordial" or two.
There is a small charge to do the tour of the Town Hall, but it is well worth it
The staff at the Information Centre situated in the Town Hall are so very helpful and will make sure you have all the information and pamphlets you need to enhance your stay in York.
Our Over 55 Walking Association members really enjoyed the tour and there were many positive comments about it. Thank you again for all your help during the year Leanne with organising events for our four days in York, your help was invaluable.
Can thoroughly recommend the tour of the Town Hall.

The Town Hall is the Visitors Centre too. The fabulous ladies are full of knowledge of the heritage and stories of York.
And then you get to wander the great rooms of the building. Watch for information boards and sheets as you wander to add depth to your surroundings. Like the story of the young man who jumped from the balcony onto the dance floor below startling the dancers. It did not end well

The York Town Hall tour with Andy proved to be an enlightening journey through history. Andy's wealth of knowledge and passion for the subject matter made the experience truly exceptional. His engaging narrative skillfully brought the town's rich history to life, providing a fascinating glimpse into its past. Andy's informative commentary, coupled with a keen attention to detail, ensured a thorough exploration of the Town Hall's architectural and historical significance. The tour offered a perfect blend of education and entertainment, making it an enriching experience for both history enthusiasts and casual visitors. Highly recommend this tour for a captivating and insightful venture into York's heritage.

The Town Hall is a beautiful building, lovingly restored and maintained, and with a frontage that commands the main street of York. The building is angled to show it at its best. There are various tourism places inside the the best part of visiting is to view the main hall area with it's wonderful pressed tin ceiling. Well worth a look.

The building dates to 1911 and is described as "a fine example of Edwardian opulence" and also boasted the largest area dance-floor in the State when opened. There is extensive use of jarrah in the interior, floors and balustrading, and the ceilings of tin are a feature of yesteryear. The entry is, for me, the most impressive feature of the building; columns support the ornate facade with clock above and the beautifully crafted fanlight above the entry doors.

So glad my family and I stopped off at the tourist info centre in York. We were amazed that you could wander around the old building. There was lots really interesting historic facts to learn here about the buildings heritage and history of York, WAs first inland town settlement. Lots of leaflets about different walks, maps, tours etc and there are helpful staff at hand for any questions you may need answering or souveniers you may like to purchase.

What a beautiful old building with a massive timber floor hall. I almost wanted to grab my partner and dance! The stage was huge and you could stare at it and imagine what’s gone on here in the past. Probably plays, concerts, debates, classes, and everything else.
Worth climbing the stairs and seeing the view from the top.
A lady named Sadie from the tourism staff gave us some big tips on what to see and do around town. Very passionate lady with great advice.

The oldest inland town in WA and looks like it. Nothing been done since settlement. Dirty and very untidy buildings. Nothing much to do or see. The way some of the locals drive, the ones with Y number plates is mind blowing, we witnessed some idiots run straight over some wild life on purpose, very disturbing. We found the best thing about York was the road out and our driver agreed.Would not bother ever returning.

Had a very quick look through this building. Very impressive and worth a visit, especially the upstairs gallery. Visitor centre is located here and the staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable. Will return to York when we have more time to look around.
