These rock formation is within close proximity to the wave rock. The rocks looks like the hippopotamus yawn hence its name , but on the side view it looks like an elephant. Nothing much i guess.

This rock certainly does look like a hippo! we visited on one of the walking tracks from Wave Rock, there were a lot of people around so we didn't get many good photos but it was worth a look.

Well worth taking a little more time after visiting Wave Rock to the Hippo's Yawn which is near the end of the walking track along the base of Wave Rock. Its worth the time and is an easy walk. Then walking back to the car park/camp grounds you'll pass through a beautiful revegitated area and learn about Salmon Gums and... More

This is a small walk from the car park, or you could drive. Worth the 15 minutes it takes as it does look like a Hippo

Nice easy walking distance from Wave Rock, lovely and green at this time of year. Would be wonderful in spring time. Good signage, information boards and the like. Suit all ages and abilities, although Hippo's Yawn walk might be beyond wheelchairs.

It's huge, looks just like a hippo yawning & only a short walk from Wave Rock...you're mad if you don't see them both. Get a photo with you inside the hippo's mouth...it looks great.

Short walk to the hippos yawn from parking area or 20 minute walk from Wave rock. Can walk around more... but only a short stop for me.... recommend spending at least a day exploring the area..

Hippo's Yawn is certainly out-shone by nearby Wave Rock. It was interesting to see other rock formations.

An interesting large cave which does from some angles remind one of a Walt Disney hippo. Not a very loved site with scrabbly bushes interrupting the views

If you go to see Wave rock you might aswell come and see Hippo's Yawn - we often come here with the brothers and sisters. They love exploring the caves and climbing the rocks.
