The gardens with a lovely lake are the perfect place to stop and stretch, eat or rest while passing through Ararat. Or - like so many locals - you can walk or run round the lake a few times. There's a kids' playground, lovely little cafe and plenty of seating.

We spent a lovely morning at the Lake. Beautiful gardens that are well maintained by the Ararat Council. Shady trees, tranquil lake setting and views out to Mount Langi Ghiran. Enjoy a tasty lunch or coffee at the Gardens Lake Cofe - they sell bags of feed for the ducks too!

The Gardens have a lot of water with islands, art works, sheltered BBQs, seating, garden beds, easy walks, a playground (fenced), and a good cafe. We came here twice; once to see the ducks and a second time to use the public toilets and visit the cafe. We were told that the toilets were the cleanest in town, but they did not have soap

Nice little country town park. Good children's play area and a lake to stroll around. We were there Saturday arvo and there were lots of families having picnics in the park. A busy little cafe that was delivering drinks out to the picnic-ers. The gardens were a bit so-so, but over all impression was a nicely kept park.

Beautiful park shaded by large trees with beautiful lawns. Plenty of bird life associated with the lake presence. Playground, cafe and good walking design. Really nice place to relax with family.

Nice park to come by to visit, to either walk around, bring the kids or even to have a break for some quiet time. Plenty of trees around the lake to sit under. Enjoyed some of the bird life on the lake. It is worthwhile to have a look even just to have a bit of a walk.

We stopped in so my kids could play on the equipment, walk out to the island and play hide and seek in the fernery area. An hour was spent there and my kids had a great time. However, there was a lot of rubbish in the fernery area and it needed a good clean up! The playground was great though.

If you are in the area this little garden is the perfect spot to stretch your legs. Very well maintained with a lovely cafe in the gardens. Personally I find this one of the best things to do is ararat.

Nice little lake and walking track. The local Rotary Club have a permanent orchid displace. The place has a lot of other plant displays and places to see. Worth and visit and a quick walk or a picnic.

There are some well considered plantings of natives around this attractive lake that is next to the busy (at night) Melbourne - Adelaide rail line. The lake had many species of waterfowl including Eurasian coots, Chestnut Teal and Pacific Black Ducks. There is a good walking path around the lake.
