The staff here are very friendly and helpful, good info video to watch and plenty to find out about, they offer a recharge station for those that need too for their phone and iPad, train museum not open every day.

Arrived in Ararat and first place we visited was the information centre, one of the best we had visited, the friendley staff were very helpful with all the local knowledge and pointed us in the right direction.

Convenient and helpful
Dec 2018 • Solo
The Ararat Visitors Info Centre is at the railway station, super convenient for train travellers (me, on a day trip from Melbourne) and motorists (carpark right in front).
The staff member was helpful although I only needed a town map, having done all my other homework online.
However, having enjoyed my few hours in Ararat, as I waited for the train I popped back for info on what else is in the region for a possible longer future visit. All the booklets, pamphlets, etc, and the souvenir items, were well laid out and not squished together so that browsing was very comfortable.
There are toilets there, nice and clean, for use before you board the train again (or get back to your car).
The availability of coffee would have been a bonus.

I popped into this centre hoping to purchase some stickers for my caravan, but unfortunately they don't sell them, I did however manage to buy some sew-on patches and fridge magnets
