This is an amazing experience - you need people at each end of the wall though, and the whisper really does travel. Visit in any weather, it still works! We went early in the morning when there were few people around which was quite nice.
Actually went here in March 2005 on our way to Barossa Valley from Adelaide. Only found out about the dam when we stopped for a coffee at Williamstown. A freaky experience to stand at one end of the dam, speak normally, and be clearly heard...More
We included a stop at the Whispering Wall on our trip through the Adelaide Hills. Entry was free and there was ample parking. Our last visit was with children but this trip, with overseas guests was equally enjoyable.
A great detour that the kids will love. We had a ball for half an hour, whispering instructions to each other from either end of the wall.
My daughter got a real kick out of asking her mum to do star jumps and seeing her...More
