If you are visiting the Barossa Valley, a short detour to this dam is a fascinating phenomenon - if there are two or more of you. The dam was presumably not designed to have the same acoustic property as the Whispering Gallery in St Paul's...More

Fantastic experience!!! Must see and hear it for yourself to fully understand what it’s all about. Awesome!!!

This is an amazing experience - you need people at each end of the wall though, and the whisper really does travel. Visit in any weather, it still works! We went early in the morning when there were few people around which was quite nice.

Actually went here in March 2005 on our way to Barossa Valley from Adelaide. Only found out about the dam when we stopped for a coffee at Williamstown. A freaky experience to stand at one end of the dam, speak normally, and be clearly heard...More

Worth seeing - we were lucky to have a tour there at the same time who gave facts and made jokes etc which we could easily hear from the opposite side.

We included a stop at the Whispering Wall on our trip through the Adelaide Hills. Entry was free and there was ample parking. Our last visit was with children but this trip, with overseas guests was equally enjoyable.

This was great fun. Our voices could be heard from one end of the dam wall to the other. A peaceful setting with excellent facilities.

The curving of the wall is a unique way to transport the sound of noise or voice from one end of the wall to the other. It’s fun time to whisper nice or bad words but everybody can hear it.

A great detour that the kids will love. We had a ball for half an hour, whispering instructions to each other from either end of the wall. My daughter got a real kick out of asking her mum to do star jumps and seeing her...More

You need to go down steps to the platform on either end of the wall if youi want to try out the 'whispering' part. But you should be able to cross over the top of the wall in a wheelchair
