Steiny's is easy to miss, so make a special effort to drop in and sample the best wurst in the valley. This is how they used to do it in Germany and Barossa when the first Germans settled. Gentle smoking using Mallee roots gives the products a very special taste and will have you longing for more. Try all their... More

This was the one place my husband really wanted to go to during our visit to the Barossa, and he made the most of it. He tried every one of the many samples on offer. I was very happy to be able to try some on the local relishes that I was curious about but reluctant to purchase earlier because... More

We didn't get the chance to visit to visit the store, but we sourced some products from the Farmer's Market. Yummy! Great local produce, a tasty product. A perfect accompaniment to all the wines.

This is what we were after on our holiday. Locally made produce. Friendly staff. Mettwurst tasting, many different flavours. Wonderful small business. We got to have a sneak peek in the smokehouse. Purchased a couple of sticks of mettwurst to savour and returned for another 5 to take home to QLD. Lovely. Well worth a visit!

Great local produce. Exactly what I expected from a boutique family run business. Given a tour of the small production centre and smoking sheds and samples of the different smallgoods and Jerky. What else is there to say but YUMMY, Yummy.

Why not include a tasting of the beautiful fermented and smoked meats the Barossa is renowned for - and they go brilliantly with the reds too! Staff are friendly and engaging and happy to discuss the process involved to produce their award winning range of delicious products. There are so many reasons to visit this area - Steiny's is perhaps... More

A visit to the Barossa is not complete without a stop in to Steiny's Smallgoods! These guys use traditional German home produce methods to create an amazing range of tasty smoked meats - they have Mettwurst (lots of it in a range of flavours) plus what I reckon is their best product - their double smoked short bacon - just... If you like German style smallgoods this is the place for you. Mettwurst, salami and lots of other sausage styles. Just good and not some of the stuff you get from the super.
