A walk up and down the main streets of Tuunda is a must do when in the area. Plaques along the Main Street are very informative about the history of the area. The majestic old buildings are also very beautiful.

Our tour stopped to give us some free time in Tanunda, an early German settlement in the Barossa Valley. Interesting local shops and culture that survives modern times.

We always look for the background to places and Tanunda didn't disappoint. A fabulous heritage trail has been established to lead visitors around this historical town. Well worth stopping, walking and taking a coffee to reflect.

Great place to walk and browse through the beautifully presented shops and cafes. Our favourite cafe being Darlings Cafe for breakfast or coffee and one of their amazing muffins. The quaint houses and gardens are worth checking out too. Sunset at Harvest Kitchen a must!

If you can drag yourself away from the numerous nearby Barossa wineries it is worthwhile taking time out to walk along this historic towns main street. A standout is the beautiful Tabor Lutheran church and cemetery that holds some of the pioneer graves. Furniture, books,...More
