What can I say. On the spur of the moment we decided to have a look and it was fantastic. It is small and it is not a state of the art dolphin training or clapping sea lion event. It is better, it is real and the owners so passionate. This is not about fish but about knowing your fish which are like Pets. Thank you for sharing with us, it is and was outstanding. Go and enjoy. Take your time and pat a fish. You may just be better for the experience

As another reviewer has said, don't let looks put you off. Yes this is a small aquarium - privately owned and run with no big tourists dollars or backing, but the experience is intimate and personable especially suiting to young families. My children aged 6, 3 & 1 all enjoyed themselves and my eldest particularly loved learning more about the different fish featured. We were fortunate enough to be there for feeding time where my girls were able to feed fish, sea horses, X-rays and even Port Jackson sharks.

Our family visited the sealife centre today, with our children (9, 5 year olds and 18 month old). It is only a small aquarium, but it was a lot of fun for the kids and enjoyable for us too. The lady there was very friendly and helpful, and even let the boys feed the fish! We spent a good 45 minutes to an hour there. Some reviews have complained about the price - we believe it was reasonable (especially considering the costs that would be involved in running the place and keeping it open!!) well worth a visit!

No eftpos and the lady was super rude and declared she would not pay $30 a month for the machine. Our family alone would have well exceed that for the whole month but no we were turned away. My daughter was obviously really upset that she couldn't go in but the lady showed no care. We were really excited to visit but left feeling disappointed and quite frankly rather peeved off! Not cool.

While on a short but very relaxing weekend away at Robe, my partner and I, being animal lovers, were really excited to visit the Robe Sealife Centre. Cuttlefish, Seahorses, Fiddler Rays and even a Gummy Shark enticed our imaginations. We made sure to arrive in time for 'the fish feeding' at 3:30pm, we didn't want to miss the action. Unfortunately, this is were our good time ended. We were greeted (for want of a better term) by the front of house/receptionist, whom I now believe to be the owner. She presented as cold, annoyed by our presence and significantly lacking polite interpersonal skills. At this point I felt unwelcome. We were then told my full time tertiary student id didn't amount to concession. Having looked at their price list, we only brought with us the exact amount. When we offered EFT, we were bluntly told, "Small business". Well, there is lots of small businesses, the reality is we live in a technology fueled world and you'll need to keep up. Having no way to pay our entry fee we left. Honestly, we shouldn't have arrived.

My family and I went on a trip to Robe a couple of weeks ago. Since my mum and I are absolute animal enthusiasts we decided to go and visit the local aquarium.
We found it was fairly dirty. The staff made us feel quite uncomfortable and it was very expensive for 2 people. It was very awkward as we were told to sit and watch a 40 minute video about fish????We still recommend people to pay a visit hoping there experience with the animals will be a little better.

A disappointment. The staff are lovely but the exhibits are very basic. If it wasn't for the fish feeding it would not be worth visiting at all. Simply needs a wider variety of fish.

If you want to spend half an hour listening to how electricity prices are closing them down, how council haven’t supported them, how the landlord is hopeless and look at fish that are living in pretty average conditions then come here. Tour guide complains that she’s done too many people today and that if you don’t listen she wont repeat herself. Nice service for a $30 entry fee. How to make someone feel good. Feel sorry for them that they are suffering but we on holidays wanting to look at sealife.

Children loved the seahorses, and the lady running the place is wonderfully enthusiastic and welcoming. However, while it's probably worth having a look while in Robe on a rainy day, and I have no doubt it costs a lot of money to run the place, it felt like a lot to pay to see some fish in tanks.

We visited the aquarium today with our family of 2 children aged 3 and 6. The both loved it especially the younger one. The lady who worked there was very informative on the sea animals. Overall great experience
