Fun
Jan 2018 • Family
We really enjoyed our visit here. Our kids loved it, fed the fish and listened to the lady talk. If you want a quick zip around, read the information kind of place this isn't for you, bit if you have a little time and listen to the guide talk about the fish, how they came to the aquarium and their quirks it's fun. Thanks and sorry to hear you're closing down

Don’t bother
Jan 2018 • Family
If you want to spend half an hour listening to how electricity prices are closing them down, how council haven’t supported them, how the landlord is hopeless and look at fish that are living in pretty average conditions then come here. Tour guide complains that she’s done too many people today and that if you don’t listen she wont repeat herself. Nice service for a $30 entry fee. How to make someone feel good. Feel sorry for them that they are suffering but we on holidays wanting to look at sealife.

Support this local business and have a great time doing it

As another reviewer has said, don't let looks put you off. Yes this is a small aquarium - privately owned and run with no big tourists dollars or backing, but the experience is intimate and personable especially suiting to young families. My children aged 6, 3 & 1 all enjoyed themselves and my eldest particularly loved learning more about the different fish featured. We were fortunate enough to be there for feeding time where my girls were able to feed fish, sea horses, X-rays and even Port Jackson sharks.

Very enjoyable
Dec 2017 • Family
Our family visited the sealife centre today, with our children (9, 5 year olds and 18 month old). It is only a small aquarium, but it was a lot of fun for the kids and enjoyable for us too. The lady there was very friendly and helpful, and even let the boys feed the fish! We spent a good 45 minutes to an hour there. Some reviews have complained about the price - we believe it was reasonable (especially considering the costs that would be involved in running the place and keeping it open!!) well worth a visit!

Crazy Overpriced
Oct 2017
We found the price to be very expensive considering the small size of the aquarium. It's about 2 rooms, with about 8 tanks in total. Owner wouldn't really let us explore on our own, she was very nice and friendly, however we sort of just wanted to experience the place for ourselves. We got to pat a gummy shark, which was great. Yet, the price is something I just can't get over.

I'm sorry you were so disappointed in what you paid for. We have been forced to close off half the shed due to the increase in electricity cost. We in SA pay the highest electricity prices in the world!!!!!! therefore we have been forced to reduce the size of the business and keep the admission price the same to keep the business open.

"very uncomfortable visit"
May 2017 • Family
My family and I went on a trip to Robe a couple of weeks ago. Since my mum and I are absolute animal enthusiasts we decided to go and visit the local aquarium.
We found it was fairly dirty. The staff made us feel quite uncomfortable and it was very expensive for 2 people. It was very awkward as we were told to sit and watch a 40 minute video about fish????We still recommend people to pay a visit hoping there experience with the animals will be a little better.

Must see
Apr 2017 • Family
Fabulous place to visit. Not pricey at all by other standards - remember no govt help, no council help or tourism help other than word of mouth by other visitors & a few local businesses. For shame! As this is a great experience for people to appreciate marine life. Kids will love it - especially patting the rays (so friendly). The enthusiasm from staff was exceptional. Don't let looks outside fool you - it's a tin shed & it's tanks inside in low light but that's how the fish like it! The genuine care for the animals can be seen & felt. To finish the day go down the road to Mahalia coffee & it's a great time spent in Robe in under rated businesses off the Main Road. We loved it. ☺

Loved patting the shark!!!!
Mar 2017 • Family
Not a huge aquarium but had lots of different things to see. Highlight for us was patting the sharks that look like stingrays (can't remember their proper name!!!!) but they were gorgeous all the same.

A fun and unique place to visit!
Apr 2017 • Family
Our young family loved visiting the Sealife Centre. The owner was very passionate and knowledgeable about her animals and her enthusiasm was contagious! We chose to stay and feed the fish which was a unique hands on experience that the kids especially loved.

A Fun afternoon
Jan 2017 • Family
What a great time we had, we visited 18th January, Norma was brilliant with her wealth of information, and a lovely lady. The kids aged 12 & 8 had a great time, and especially enjoyed feeding the fish & sharks. It is a small place but we spent an enjoyable 2 hours there. Thank you
