About
In Kalleske Cellar Door you will be able to taste our current range of wines and hear all about the history behind the Kalleske vines. Cheese platters of local Barossa produce are available to purchase and can be enjoyed on a picnic blanket on the lawn or in our cozy cellar door. Or why not try a self guided food and wine flight where each local produce is paired with a Kalleske wine. Out the back you can find games like Quoits to entertain the kids whilst being surround by a beautiful garden. Come enjoy our wines and learn the rich history that went into making them. In South Australia's Barossa Valley, the Kalleske family have been farming and growing grapes since 1853 near the village of Greenock. They are one of the region's leading grape-growing families consistently growing some of the Barossa's best quality grapes. After six generations of growing grapes, winemaker and seventh generation family member, Troy Kalleske, together with his brother Tony, established the Kalleske winery and made the first 'Kalleske' wine. The vineyard is low yielding with grapes grown organically and biodynamically and the winery is also certified biodynamic/organic. The Kalleske family are active practitioners of sustainable farming. They are caretakers of the land and not only want to maintain the environment but improve it for future generations. All Kalleske wines are estate grown and vinified with minimalist winemaking techniques used to fully capture the essence of the vineyard allowing genuine handmade estate wines to be produced. The range is a diverse mix of wines that showcases the splendid Kalleske grapes. Wines from Kalleske have been seven generations in the making, but they are certainly worth the wait!

Best Wines in the Barossa
May 2021
I travelled to Barrossa for a weekend with a group of 8 people. We were running late for our booking and there were no cabs available and Dana came to collect us from Tanunda which is not a service they typically offer!! We were so grateful to be able to go to Kalleske's. The white wine and rose in particular was my favourite in the Barossa and we all hung out in the beautiful garden after our tasting. Dana and her brother were super knowledable and professional and gave us the warmest welcome. I will be back and highly recommend everyone goes there!

A group of 8 of us finally made it to the Barossa from WA for a wine club trip that had been 2 yrs in the planning.
Kalleske was a great experience.
From the fun of our blind tasting wine flight to the delicious food, our time spent was informative, well presented and a very enjoyable afternoon. Our host was knowledgeable, warm and welcoming. Really enjoyed this venue.

Cellardoor tasting
Mar 2021 • Friends
This one of the nicest cellar doors in the Barossa. Sarah did a fantastic job looking after us and several others tasting at the same time. We stayed on after the tasting for a platter and glass of the old vine Grenache - both excellent! The platter was generous and consisted of local produce.

Great wines, great service, great experience!

Lovely cellar door! An outside eating and drinking area at the back which looked nice too. Nice staff. But the wines are amazing! Definetly make this a stop. Delicious! We'll be back! Yum!

Fabulous
Jan 2021 • Friends
Staying in Greenock we wandered over to This cellar door for a thoroughly enjoyable and informative wine tasting experience hosted by the lovely Alex. We sat outside in the lovely garden and Alex walked us through a wine flight. We left with a good understanding of the Kalleske wines and their organic vineyards. And with some bottles of their beautiful reds. I will Definetly be recommending this cellar door.

Absolutely delightful! Great wines for a good price.

We visited the cellar door for a tasting in January. This was one of the best tasting experiences we have had on this visit to the Barossa.
The staff are knowledgable and super friendly. We chose to have a tasting flight and a shared platter. The platter was generous and regional products only. We enjoyed our food and wine in the garden courtyard, a lovely oasis.
The wines are exceptional. We will definitely come back on our next visit to the Barossa or order from them online.

Loved it
Dec 2020 • Couples
Had a couple of days in the Barossa and this was our first stop.
Loved it so much, I could have happily not visited anywhere else. You get a choice of a few wine flights at $10. In each flight, you get a generous taste of 6 wines.
We also ordered their platter which was amazing.
If you can, sit outside in their garden. The whole experience was just beautiful and we will definitely visit there again on our next visit to the Barossa

Tasting in the time of Covid
Nov 2020
Absolutely fantastic, and Kalleske you have a gem in Alex.
Covid has been an interesting year but the method of tasting at Kalleske, I hope for one, may continue. Alex allowed me to choose the flight of wines we were interested in then provided a succinct , personalised approach. it certainly beats a fight at the tasting bar , often with groups more interested in the amount, versus an interest in the wines.
Service was prompt, personalized, welcoming and very friendly . Alex even helped carry my purchases to our car(sorry for the distance).
I would highly recommend a visit, and taste the different reds on offer. Some not found elsewhere in the Valley.

An absolute Gem
Nov 2020 • Couples
We came to the Barossa looking for small, family-owned concerns that produce good wine. Kalleske didn’t disappoint. Of the eight cellar doors over the last two days, this has been the absolute highlight of our trip to Clare and Barossa. The combination of friendly and attentive service coupled with exceptional wines was worth the trip. We have found our new favourite winery from the region and can’t wait to share some of the wines we bought with our Brisbane neighbours (especially the 2008 Eduard Shiraz). Still in its family’s hands, 8 generations after it was started. We will be back!
