About
Rymill Coonawarra is a five-star Wine Companion winery and described as a ‘must visit’ by regarded wine critic James Halliday. The cellar door offers unique and unrivalled views of winemaking and viticulture with our multi-level observation decks. Rymill Coonawarra was established in 1974 by Peter Rymill, the great-grandson of the founder of Coonawarra, John Riddoch. Our estate vineyards sit on an ancient coastline, about one million years old, the limestone of which is covered in a precious layer of terra rossa soil. The combination of Coonawarra’s unique soil and long cool ripening season is perfect for grape growing, and the region is internationally renowned for producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. The stunning winery was built in 1992 amongst the Estate Vineyards and is a striking image to all visitors at the end of the kilometre-long London Plane Tree drive.

Large cellar door with friendly staff and a good variety of excellent wines. Wines are very well priced- excellent value.
Loved their Sparking Wine (has a very pale pink colour) and their Riesling is superb.

What a wonderful setting for a winery, and what a terrific experience at the cellar door. Friendly staff, generous tastings, heaps of advice re the wines, and what wines. Big and beautiful, boisterous reds, brilliant sparkling fizz, and a surprisingly good Sav 'Blanc. Well worth the visit.

The last stop on our wine tour and what a good way to finish. Lots of variety of wines and some different styles which made it more fun. The ladies serving us were all fun, (I’ve forgotten a name or two) and seemed disappointed when we left, not buying, but saying we will be back tomorrow.... and we were true to our word. The same three were there, still busy and still with big smiles.. and we were happy to take away an assortment of bottles.

A beautiful place to visit. Wines were nice. Customer service could be improved I think. We didn't feel overly welcome. Not much info was shared with us regarding the Wines and Rymill's story.

Hi Teresa, We are so pleased you took the time to visit us and loved the wines. However, we are concerned to read your disappointment in the customer service on that day. Great customer service and knowledgeable staff are extremely important to us. Please be assured that we are taking your feedback on board. I would like the opportunity to talk to you about your experience and I encourage you to contact me directly on 08 8736 5001 or email me at nharess.albert@rymill.com.au to discuss. Kindest regards, Nharess

Great wine and our 'host' at the Cellar Door was Andrew Rymill. Good conversation and great wine. Everything you could ask for at a cellar door. Gentile hospitality with a genuine connection to the winery

We decided to do a wine tasting at Rymill as we had heard good things.

Well it didn’t disappoint at all. We had Diana look after us first and she was lovely and very knowledgeable. We then ended up with the amazing Kellie.

Kellie had incredible knowledge of the wine and worked out our taste super fast. The winner for us was the Cabernet Sav Surveyor... which is now put away for another 10 years as we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary today and need one for 2031.

Kellie is next level and this place is amazing. Highly recommend for anyone who loves gorgeous wine and just as gorgeous scenery.

This would have to be one of the more beautiful wineries. A combination of two loves, horses and wine. A perfect partnership and the story behind the logo of the rearing stallions is fantastic. There is a lot of history here and some fantastic wines. Not to be missed.

Hi gizmosis, Thanks so much for your visit. I'm glad you took the time to learn more about our story, and also enjoyed our wines! Did you know that the bronze stallions out the front of our winery were imported from France?
