The Jetty has alot of coming and going's, so its a great place to get a feel for the area and people watch. Fishing off the Jetty is a local favourite and we saw a few good fish being landed by young kids and old...More

I saw a metre long Spanish mackerel caught here one afternoon last week, i saw a shark swimming by. The ferry and bus shuttle service to the airport is excellent here

This jetty is used for loading and unloading of people who go to/from the airport. The jetty also as a small boat ramp suitable for very small towable boats. Children often fish from here while waiting.

Horn Island Jetty is a nice place to watch the boats and ships come in, loading and unloading, fishing vessels and pearlers doing their thing. At least you know that when you order fish here it’s gonna be fresh, like just pulled from the sea...More

Yep, it's a working wharf alright. It's not too scenic but the comings and goings are interesting, particularly when the container barge arrives. There is so much more to see and enjoy on Horn, one of the largest islands in the Torres Straight.

The walk along the jetty and foreshore is lovely. The information along the path explains the history of settlement on the island and the sculptures provide a visual reference to the marine life, indigenous history and some of the industry (pearling).

With fishermen and boats coming and going a lot makes for interesting observing. Sunset was nice also but didn't get up for sunrise.

Well, you can't get to Thursday Island without using this jetty! Charter boats, local people fishing, tours, all depart from here.

I arrived after a lengthy flight from Southern australia via Cairns to the Horn Island airport. A short bus ride from the airport to this location to reach Thursday Island. The bus works with the water ferries to provide transport to the surounding Islands that...More

Pretty standard wharf, but it has a great view of Thursday Island, and is a popular fishing spot with the locals. This is where you catch a ferry or water taxi to the any of the nearby islands
