We dropped in to the visitor center to get extra info about the Ipswich region because we will have visitors staying with us from Canada and want to show them around. We have lived in the area all our lives. However the person who helped us at the visitor center had lots of helpful information including brochures to help choose what to see. A bonus was the Possum with it's baby at the back of the building.

Today I hosted a trip to Ipswich for our Holland Park Probus Club. We had 37 members and guests on board the bus. The day started with a delicious morning tea at the Information Centre where we were seated on the cool verandah. Then two lovely ladies, Rhonda and Sandra boarded the bus to guide us around the many historic and interesting homes and buildings. Their knowledge of their city combined with their obvious love of its historical attractions was top class. Lunch was also delicious and much appreciated by all at the Royal Albert Hotel. Thanks also to Vanida from the Information Centre who was very helpful and sweet. All Club members voted this a wonderful outing at such a reasonable price. Congratulations Ipswich.

On a day tour outing from the club in Brisbane, We stopped here to have a Devonshire tea on the verandah. The scones were very well made and tasty and we actually had perculated coffee, nice and hot as well as some varities of tea. It was a pleasant spot and well looked after. We then browsed through the gifts available and I bought a nice little hand made bag with leather aboriginal art. The staff were courteous and served with a smile. A nice stop over when visiting Ipswich.

I got the Queens park cafe mixed up with the cafe at the visitors centre. They are 2 seperate places, some distance apart. The cafe at the visitors centre is coffee & tea, and a few snacks - The Queens Park cafe is much more, with a vast array of foods & drinks..... There is a difference
