Great little visitor information centre with great staff
Jan 2019
This is a great place to stop in and talk to the helpful volunteers about your plans in the area, and to find out about things you may not have known were there. Good advice, maps, suggestions, souvenirs, a public toilet on site, easy parking outside, and the best little museum just opposite. Plus the public library next door was selling old books outside when we went there, so if you need some holiday reading...

We always make sure we stop at the info centres in a new town, and this one was another wonderful welcome.
The volunteer manning the centre was full of knowledge, support and happy to take onboard any feedback and comments regarding our visit thus far. I was happy to could provide her with information to assist in her advice to future visitors to my local area of Capricornia.
Definitely good value all round available to everyone in this centre. I wish we had more time to visit the museum across the road which is only open for 3 hours per day.

The REAL Agnes- 1770 info centre
Jul 2018 • Couples
This is the REAL Agnes- 1770 info centre. Very helpful, knowledgeable, well-managed, lots of local and wider brochures.
Don't be fooled by the tour centre with a big i attached to the Caltex who are not too helpful unless you want to buy a tour. And yes they are open on the weekends.

Travelling with a dog? Make sure you have a lesson with Chris
Jul 2018 • Couples
We visited the info centre and I said we had our 6 month old pup with us and the volunteer told us about Chris from Stand Up Paddle (SUP). He has a dog socialisation hour on a Tuesday and also does private lessons. Well our kelpie learned how to sit on the paddle board and come for a paddle. She was scared at first but then had a ball. She (we) also learned heaps about how to make sure we are the boss. We saw a huge change in her. It was the best money spent on our holiday.

They will help you out!

The Agnes Water Info Centre is staffed with knowledgeable, passionate, friendly locals who can advise on how to get the best of your stay in this very special area of Australia. The beauty and attractions of this area are not always apparent at first glance. And, because it's a small town, things can change month to month. Want to find a beach you can have all to yourself depending on the time of day? Ask at the Info Centre. Want to know what to do when it's pouring down rain? Ask them. Best restaurant in town tonight -- don't trust an internet search, trust the Info Centre. Best trip to the Great Barrier Reef? They will know. And now they're stocking locally-made souvenirs, as opposed to the same old things you find at any Australian Info Centre. Agnes Water Info Centre rocks!

Very unhelpful staff
Nov 2016
Unfortunately two days into our trip we were hit with rain so we decided to head to the information centre to see what was around. We were greeted with a friendly hello however when we asked the man behind the counter what we could do on a rainy day his response was "not much" we were left standing there looking at each other as he sat back down, fortunately the wall is filled with brochures about the area and what's on offer so we helped ourselves and went on our way, not really sure what the purpose was of him being there except to take money for overpriced souvenirs.

We are sorry to hear that the weather was not cooperating on your visit. Our volunteers have a number of suggestions for guests on rainy days including LARC Tours, cafe tours, gallery, museum and distillery. It is unfortunate that this wasn't suggested to you. Our male volunteer has an amazing knowledge of the area, having been working for us for over 5 years. It seems out of character for him not to make a number of suggestions for you. I do apologise that you weren't guided on further activities given the conditions. The majority of our souvenirs our made locally starting at 50 cents and up to $140 for an extremely large handmade wooden mirror. Locally made postcards are for sale for $2 which is very reasonable. We sell a number of products every day and are consistently told how reasonably priced are items are. Apologies that this did not meet with your expectations. We do hope you enjoyed your visit to Agnes Water and the Town of 1770 and look forward to you visiting again one day.

Looking for things to do in 1770/Agnes Water
Nov 2016 • Couples
We had most of our tours etc pre-booked but wanted to see if there was anything else to do while we were staying there so we visited the Information Centre. The ladies in the Centre were very nice, friendly and helpful. the Centre itself has brochures for every type of activity and accommodation etc. They also sell a good range of souvenirs. Well worth the visit even to just have a look around.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We love having a chat to guests and telling them all about the wonderful activities available in Agnes Water and the Town of 1770. The majority of our souvenirs are produced by local artists, which makes them very unique :)
