This is an unusual but convivial place to stay. It would be a great face for families with children as it has a butterfly house, rabbits, other animals - I think I saw some goats - and of a night, definitely a couple of cane...More

I recently visited the butterfly farm on the way back from Litchfield National Park. The ambience was great and the variety of fauna was cool too! I was lucky enough that two of the workers Nick and Nathan let me hold their snake and I...More

This place is very unique with a charm all of its own. We stayed overnight in one of their rooms (Alice in Wonderland themed) and smiled alot! Our kids loved visiting the rabbit enclosures and were over the moon at being able to feed them....More

This is a great place to visit with the whole family! The owner is extremely enthusiastic, reminded me of Jimmy Barnes but a little less shouty. He had enclosures with several different species of butterflies at various stages of development - so lots of caterpillars...More

Batchelor is situated a few km from the entrance to Litchfield NP. Nothing special we thought until we saw a sign for "The Butterfly Farm". It was at the rear of an attractive old house and the children were able to walk among the butterflies....More

Thanks Chris for developing this great attraction in this little hideaway. The butterflies are tenderly raised and fed and looked after with numbers to map their progress. Got some great shots thanks to your helpers. But wait, that's not all...you can walk around the pet...More

Loved this place. Was a little disappointed there weren't more butterflies, but some beautiful ones were there. This place would be especially lovely for youngsters. Rabbits, geese, Goats, pigs, chooks, all available for cuddles and pats. Worth a trip.

A spur of the moment decision to visit the butterfly farm before leaving Batchelor - we had no idea of what to expect (we had been told by one local - "it depends what mood the butterflies are in"!) and we found a lovely, quirky,...More
