A very difficult and steep walk via coastal paths, to basically one tower and a derelict site. Take care, limited opening hours

Thus is okay if you have done the walk from the bottom, round coast. But if coming from top, not really worth the journey, if pushed for time. Interesting information though. Wasnt open when we got there.

Walked for ages to see this and it was closed. There are some nice views and the info about the castell around the outside is in English and very interesting.

Top of the mountain!

We walked from Fenals beach, up a couple of hundred steps to get to the castle. It costs €3 per adult and children are free. There's not much to see as far as the castle goes, only the keep remains with stairs inside to reach the top. The views are lovely from the top, my 6 and 10 year old loved it! We walked back down towards Loret main beach which was a winding path with lots of stairs. We passed a bronze sculpture of the fisherwoman on our way down which we hadn't expected! All in all it was quite a hike but really enjoyable with awesome views

Only tower left really

There is not much left of original buildings around tower however there is beautiful view over city from the tower itself. At cost of 3.00 have no regrets of visiting and beautiful pictures.

Great views & very pretty chapel

We visited the castle on a grey morning. We travelled by car which was fine & managed to park at the top there where the castle is as it was quite early - by the time we came out an hour & half later there weren't any parking spaces left so not sure where you could park if you don't manage to get a space there. There were lots of steps which our toddler enjoyed but there are some steep drops at the side of some so if you do visit with small children just be aware. It was beautiful & so glad we went. There's a gorgeous little chapel there too which was open. The caretaker (we think he was a caretaker as was sweeping outside) invited us in & led us to a small room where he allowed our toddler to have a go at ringing the bell. Was lovely & she really enjoyed looking at the paintings inside. Worth a visit!

Only tower still stands
Jun 2018 • Couples
Steep climb to "castle". Coastal path damaged inaccessible. Access via main road not that well signposted. Can climb to top inside tower. Entry only 3 euro. Stunning views from top. Mainly only tower left of castle some remnants of castle walls exist.
