This baroque Roman Catholic cathedral in the middle of town is certainly worth a visit. The ceilings and walls were very impressive with all of the paintings, etc. Really beautiful! Also above the altar in Hebrew letters is the word for God! Fascinating for a Roman Catholic church.

The church was built in the late 14th into the 15th centuries, and the façade with the large portico you see today was added in the late 18th century. It has beautiful ceilings and reliefs and several notable paintings.

It is a cathedral, like many others you see in Sicily. nice interior, but would not go there just for visiting this place.

The Cattedrale in Trapani is lovely. Many churches in Sicily tend to be more simple than other churches in Europe but this had a very pretty interior that was definitely worth seeing

We were fortunate to visit when a young man was practicing on the pipe organ.
The power of the organ reverberated through the beautiful interior so I just sat listening and looking at the beautiful ceilings.
I noticed that there are not only pipes at the back of the
Church but also on the altar itself so when the organ plays you hear it and feel it from all sides....fantastic!

More than worth the 2 € you pay to enter this church full of old paintings and plenty of other pieces of religious old art.

Beautiful old church near the Port of Trapani, an easy walk. Getting it all in a picture is tough with the streets. Lots of highly decorated roof panels & detailed marble components with the eight pointed stars. Very interesting.

The church was free to enter. There are clothes restrictions to enter, shoulders must be covered and knees covered etc out of respect to the church. Stunning architecture.

I'm not a believer, but do like church history and buildings. Not a fan of Catholic churches generally as find them over decorative and often dark and oppressive. But this one was a gem. TheRe is a lightness inside that is a joy to behold. Lots of carving and paintings which together give it a very welcoming feel.

Our short visit in the town has included this site and we did not regret.
Impressive building located in the heart of the city.
Many places to relax in the street which is in front of the cathedral.
worth a visit.
