Shanghai Family to Yangzhou for the weekend
Apr 2021 • Family
It is a wonderful lake that offers so much history spanning back to the 7th Century. It is grandiose and I highly recommend taking your family on a boat trip. The gardens are immaculate and there are places for children, we discovered a small petting zoo and a few slides. Therefore we were all entertained sufficiently!

Yangzhou's iconic sight
Jun 2019
A perfect place to visit in the summer, the only problem is that everyone else will be visiting it then too; as soon as you arrive you can either walk along the river or get a boat cruise across the beautiful water which reflects the hanging trees and clear sunny skies above. Along the sides of the river are hundreds of different kinds of plants of all different sizes and colours and paths leading in different directions, giving something new to discover each time you visit. At the centre of the lake rests the most famous landmark in the city of Yangzhou, the Five pavilion bridge, it's bright colours look beautiful in the sunlight and is usually filled with other people coming to visit. As you explore the different parts of the lake you can see birds like swans or peacocks and groups of people taking the perfect photo. You see the traditional Chinese architecture, old buildings lost behind plant life and different paths to explore.

Gorgeous lake on the tourist area of Yangzhou. We walked down don guan street (historic buildings and shops - lots to see) then onto slender west lake.

If you've been to the West Lake in Hangzhou, or Xuanwu Lake in Nanning, it is not really worth visiting Slender West Lake, the scenery is fine but I've been to many lovely lakes in China, so for me, it is somehow average place.

Went to slender west lake, went on a Friday in the morning which is much quieter than the weekend of afternoons. Took a boat ride from one end to the other where the buildings are and walked back. There are shops buildings and bridges, Daming Temple is there so you can take lots of photos, also there is a mcdonalds around the lake.

The most beautiful park in the world!
Jul 2019 • Solo
Took those photos on a winter morning in Yangzhou. It was cold, but totally worth it. Went in the park through the west gate, and ran all the way to the lotus pavilion to capture the sunrise. Took a while to set up the equipment, and the sun had already risen. Next time, I will run faster and get the parameters straight away!!!!

The landmark of Yangzhou.
Jun 2018 • Solo
The slender west lake is the most attractive scenery in Yangzhou. The lake is not that huge, compare to west lake in Hangzhou. But it is very worthy visiting. There is diversity in the lake area, different bridges, white Lama temple and different kinds of plants. It is quite walkable place.Take a cruise there in a sunny day can be so exciting. But there are a few shops with very limited selection of food and beverage.I do suggest that you can get the beverage and food before you enter the lake area.It is better and cheaper. There is touristic bus that links all the attractions in Yangzhou.Quite convenient.Last but not least is the best travelling month is April.

Visit Da Ming Temple/Monastery. Then enter this park from the North Entrance.
When we visited the trees and shrubs were just beginning to bud and flower.
Due to lack of shade from big trees along the walking paths i would think Summer is not a good time to visit.
The Bonzai Museum is worth a visit. Many photogenic spots.
You can spend a whole day in the park though refreshment kiosks are few and far in between. Bring your own water flask. Kiosks also provide hot water/tea free.
If you see all and exit from the south gate it is a long 3+ hours walk. For a shorter walk exit from east gate.
A nice well thought out and designed garden/park.
