Just spent two weeks in Yangzhou teaching, spent time down this street which is an ancient street, you will need to avoid the scooters which go up and down the street pipping their horns, you will need to get out of their way as they wont move for you! Went to some of the museum, old merchant houses on the street. Some lovely shops and coffee houses which serve Lattes, fab. We walked from one end to the other where it meets slender west lake, my friend, colleague and I had a great time once in a lifetime visit.

If you were aware of the “toad-worshipping” (Mo Ha) subculture in China, you just have to check out this place - where Jiang Zemin used to live - the “MOgic” center of the universe ;))))

A must visit for anyone visiting YangZhou for the first time. On one one end is a park where elders exercise and bus tour groups gather to be picked up or let loose. Here in a side road is a delightful restaurant Xiao Cai Fang" (Little Dishes Square). The chillie fish-head is particularly good and cheap. The pedestrianised walking street is busy (I understand) every day of the year. One kilometre plus long, lined on both sides with shops of every kind. Boutiques, arts and crafts, Chinese writing brushes, knives, manicure/pedicure sets, etc. Those selling biscuits and candies seem to have the most business. Small restaurants/snack shops appears between every 10-12 shops. There is one we particularly like, - selling "Dai Choon Lin" cosmetics, This Chinese Brand went back a few hundred years.
One entrance to Ge Yuan, a museum - old dwellings pf some Lords is from this street.
At the other end, at the cross roads is "Jiang Jia Qiao" (Jiang Family"s Bridge) a popular snack (self Service) cafeteria serving good tasty local delicacies at cafeteria prices.
Proceed further down along the road , to where the Local tourists don't go, are local road side market stalls and restaurants.
A good experience of a genuine Chinese shopping street.

Good place to walk around . The streets is about 1.5 km long and lots of small shops selling small snacks , souvenirs and clothing . Very busy . The gate to this old street is amazing . Don’t go on holidays as it will be packed .

Interesting architecture and a nice walk along the street, but the shops are all selling similar suveniers or food. Worth visiting and prices are moderate. However, the street view is beautiful

We really enjoyed our visit to Yangzhou, wandering through the market streets, and shopping for different curiosities. We stopped and enjoyed delicious, iced fruit drinks, and the aromas of the various eateries along the way. It wasn't too busy when we were there, and it was a pleasant stroll through this area.

Its a good market to observe the chinese culture. We struggled a bit for vegetarian options for food but overall a nice decent bazaar. Ramada plaza is right in front of the street.
