Zhonggong Xiangqu is a must see destination if visiting Hunan Province. This childhood home of Chairman Mao is a site that many Chinese make a pilgrimage to, which makes for this attraction to be very crowded. There is no fee to enter and the associated museum provides plenty of items for Mao aficionados.

Verya interesting setting. Both his birth house (old Farm) as the residence built by the Party later on. Very basic accommodation for the Great Leader. For a lot of Chinese, it is a kind of pilgrimage site.

Beautiful place, but as we went on Saturday, it was crowded... about 2 hours the line to enter on his home. Nothing special.

If you are in the Zhuzhou/Changsha area take a side trip to Chairman Mao’s ancestral home. It is interesting. The way that out guide spoke of his exploits transcend words. This is where modern China took roots.

Hello,
How I arrive to Mao's house childhood by public transport? Is there a tour by private car?
Thanks
