The ferris wheel can be seen from all over Changsha but the area it is in isn't worth going out of your way for. I don't think it was operating when I was in Changsha over the CNY break but the lights were still on. It is one of the tallest ferris wheels in China and the lights are pretty impressive. It is right beside the He-Long Stadium and there is a small square in the area.

Changsha is an Interesting smaller town, I wasn't there long enough to try a lot things but the food in the ares was pretty good. In this area of China the food tends to be spicier than sweet like in Shanghai.

The ferris wheel is located on the fifth floor. It was a little hard to locate with no street signage. You pay just before you get on. The ride lasts for approximately 20 minutes and will set you back 50 RMB per person. The glasses view from the cab isn’t exactly crystal clear, so forget the camera and just enjoy the view. The view itself it’s as spectacular as say the Canton or Pearl Tower. But for a fraction of the cost it’s a bargain. I recommend you go on a Saturday when the fireworks are on.

A Ferris wheel stuck right in the downtown area of this city. An impressive sight. Great to see at night time.

It's a ferris wheel in the middle of a city... you will see tall buildings and if your trip is at night then you will see many lights. I don't see how people can complain about it being underwhelming, what were they expecting to see!? Anyway, its cheap and easy and a nice way to relax after a big and spicy Hunan style dinner! You have to take the lift from inside the sport stadium opposite the Rosa cake shop. There will be somebody around to show you which floor if you make a large wheel with your arms and say wheel a few times. Felt quite safe and got some great pictures of lights from above the city if you pop your phone out of the window slightly (sorry health and safety). If you've got some time spare in the evening worth a go.

I went at night because I thought the town lights would be pretty, but between the pollution and the bad glass, most of the photo's didn't turn out. may be better by day. but at 50RMB it is well worth the trip

Took a look but decided it didn't meet some of my safety concerns. Not sure why. Seemed to be sitting on top of a building. Not anchored into the ground. Everyone has a different view on these things, but I'm very conservative with amusements in general, even at Disney parks.

Take the time to go see this in the evening after dark. You will not be disappointed. At 390 feet tall it is the 4th tallest in the world and one of the second largest in China.
