Excellent to learn about Chinese History, specially my wife and me who are teachers. They have a great show with more than 700 artists, along a river inspired in the Chinese famous painting along the Yellow River.

This is a Chinese cultural theme park showing a variety of activities and historical events from the Song dynasty that had its capital in Kaifeng.
It is definitely not a high brow cultural centre but is very popular with Chinese tourists, and does have plenty of activities to see. The trick is to follow the sequence of demonstration events which are numbered and timetabled on the map handed out at the entrance.
Overall, this park will mainly work if you have a Chinese guide who can explain the events and something about the historical context.
There are stalls and shops dotted around, plus a good sized food area. Amongst the stalls are a few artisans with interesting crafts (eg sugar figure blower and hot pokerwork on wood).
There is a night show with lights but we went during the day.

There are a lot of lovely old things to see in Kaifeng but the Millennium Park is just packed with people, very corny, very fake.... maybe with kids it is worth a few hours. We were there in peak August week so maybe after August might be better. But if you have limited time in Kaifeng don't come and go see the other old temples and pagodas and walk the old streets instead. We went about 5pm and stayed for the light show. It is not as good as the show in Hangzhou but if you can get a reasonably priced ticket it is worth seeing.

The place is amazing (if they were rollercoaster there, i'd say it's Song Dynasty Historical Disneyland) and if you want to fully experience it -- and check out every show from the list, I suggest spending two days there.
Also, for students, there's a cheaper entrance ticket.
Though if you want to see the night light show, you have to buy separate ticket.
There's more content written in chinese but there's some of it in english to give you a general idea about the place. All the shows are in chinese as well, but you don't need to understand much to enjoy a chicken fight, a boat fight or horse battle!
The food - especially from small snack stalls is delicious!
I spent a whole day there, didn't have to wait in the queue too long (10 minutes top) and enjoyed my time greately! <3

The key to enjoying your experience here is to know what to expect. First, this park is a complete reconstruction. None of it is original, so don't be expecting there to be relics and artefacts. The park is based on an ancient scroll painting that depicts aspects of life in the Song Dynasty. There are a series of performances and a set viewing schedule. Look at the schedule in advance, figure out which performances you want to see, and plan accordingly. We really enjoyed the "kung fu on horseback," the marriage ceremony, and the water puppet theatre. It was inexpensive fun (RMB 20 per person) to dress up on Song Dynasty costumes and take pictures. If it is a hot day, go in the afternoon, stay for dinner in the park and stay for the evening show. It will be much less crowded than it is in the morning. Swing on the swings, stroll around the lakes - enjoy the chance to be in a big green garden space. None of it is "real" but it can still be lovely and calm.
The evening show is a crazy spectacle really only to be seen in China. It starts with a Deng Xiao Ping impersonator auctioning off his calligraphy. Weird and hilarious. The show is a story of the history of the Song Dynasty and it is told in a grand and gaudy light show set on the water. You'll enjoy it more if you read a bit of the history in advance, or go with someone who can translate the song lyrics for you during the performance. You really haven't seen theatre to this scale if you haven't seen it in China. The "fire" at the end is amazing!!!

A unique ancient theme amusement park. Fun for the young. The highlight of the park is the night performance which requires a separate ticket (see below). When you enter the park, go to the visitor's pavilion to get a map and time schedule of day shows. You may want to plan your route according to the day shows. Arrive at least 15 mins early for the major shows (those with 1-2 shows/day) as the crowd can be massive.
We obtained our tickets through our hotel. We bought the 200+ rmb tickets which I think are good enough. No need to pay more for the "better" seats which are located at a higher up. Having said our hotel managed to secure us pretty decent seats. The ticket to the night performance allows you entry to the park from 2pm. Do note that you are not allowed to leave the park after you have entered. Doing so will void your ticket. The night show starts at 8.10pm. The last day show is 6pm. Dinner options (Chinese only) are available but be prepared to wait around while the whole park winds down.
The pictures of the night performance that you find on the Internet do not do it justice. You will have to watch to experience it!

Due to limited time, we were only able to see 1/3 of it because it was low season so many of the attractions were closed for maintenance. Each section of the theme park depicts either a specific moment in China history or a particular dynasty.

Just ended our Chinese whirlwind tour of my wife’s old stomping grounds and she really wanted to see this park. I was a bit put off by some of the reviews, but off we went. Hey, I was really surprised on how much I enjoyed the days theatrics and scenery here. The admission price of 120 rmb is a mere $17.44 usd... you can’t do wrong! We spent the day/evening there and took a nice Tuk-tuk ride back to the hotel for a 5 rmb fee. As a sidenote my wife said we could’ve made money if I had charged for all the pictures I took with individuals wanting to take a picture with me! Enjoy this park if you are in the area and have an afternoon/evening to kill

The Tribute to the Song Dynasty at night is probably the most beautiful and amazing show I have ever been to anywhere in the world. A must if you are there.

This area to the west of the Dragon Pavilion forms part of the Long Ting park. Long Ting itself is much more interesting than the Millennium addition, which is mainly just a boating lake.

What time the show start ? And how much ticket price ? Is it separate ticket with park entrance ticket ?

They have separate prices for each individual section of the park. The one at the back, aimed at children with a circus and a zoo is 60, the one in the front was 120 (2019, Chinese holiday) which is the main one and the other 40 cny, which has a lake. In total you need at least two days if you want to watch most of the shows or 40 minutes to an hour if you wanna just walk around and see none of the shows. There is another park in Central city too and that was 65 and the temple nearby was 40. Not as costly as western parks but alot in China
