Fantastic experience in hot springs - very Chinese style - possible weekend trip from Shenzhen, Hong Kong or Macao
Jan 2018 • Couples
This hot spring spa exceeded my expectations, especially after reading some other hot spring reviews. My Chinese husband took me here, and had scouted out that this is one of the most famous of the many hot springs in the area. It was warm in mid January, and we could walk with just swimsuit (required but can be purchased) and towel (provided) and plastic shoes (I took mine but are provided). Some tea (ginger or chrysanthemum) is included but they also sell some food and drinks. There are plenty of towels, shampoo, body wash and hair dryers after the fun.

The many pools have different things in them - from just hot water over clementine peel (a special of the area) and Chinese medicine (e.g. gingko) over radon (yes, the radioactive element we check to avoid in houses!) to fish eating the dead skin on your feet, and English signs are ... well.. see below... so, you need a Chinese reader to accompany you.

If you stay in a nearby hotel, they will provide you with a terry coat instead and multiple entries. It may be worth it. We stayed a bit further in a Villa area and had one entry - we paid $80 for two people for the night plus two VIP tickets - a bargain. Ordinarily we are told tickets are $30 a person - but apparently many hotels do this inclusive deals.

Children are ok in some but not all pools which is nice.

Nice especially for local standards

If you put away all expectation, deal with crowd and push then you will have a memorable visit there.
For me the crowd killed the serendipity feeling.
Service is low, rooms where so so, food as well...

Chinese spa
Oct 2011 • Business
Very Chinese place with worn out look but comfortable baths and pools as well as good saunas. Outside the spa is villa area with several undone or bit worn holiday houses. But I need to admit that some of those are fair looking, too. It was not peak season when I visited the place, so it was not packed with people and we had plenty of space to move around.
