... if you are ever in Gaoming, Wenchang Tower is a very nice "pagoda" to visit, and there is a beautiful park is right there, beneath it... at the same location. My 1st month in Gaoming was spent walking about the riverbank, and enjoying a very brief climb up to the tower. Nice financial museum, with lots of ancient currency could be found at the base of the tower, as well... Enjoy your trip to Gaoming, but don't stay too long -- the air is a bit polluted, since there are a bunch of smoke-stacks right here by the river... Needless to say, Foshan is an industrial city, and there are many factory districts that produce everything from ceramics to furniture, to god-knows whatever home-goods in between... coal is being used far and wide, to speed up their production, so yes... the air in this country-side of China is not chean...far from it... Gaoming is the most remote country-side location I've been to -- in four years of my teaching in China -- been to Shandong, Anhui and Liaoning... this one tops the cake...
