    A hidden gem
My wife and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon on the way to Blowing Rock. They had a singer (who was very good) and a food truck, so we had lunch and enjoyed 2 flights of their wines—custom ($18) and reserve ($25). Each flight consisted of 4 wines, 2oz each. We started with the custom flight and thought those wines were ok but not great. The reserve wines, however, we found to be more structured and complex, full bodied with intense flavors and more to our liking. We enjoyed the afternoon sipping wine, listening to the singer, and marveling at the views from the tasting room terrace. Highly recommend a visit to this hidden gem.

    Pet friendly with beautiful views
Staff are very friendly and made a fuss over our puppy girls, which was nice. We enjoyed having our wine tasting outside at a table overlooking the valley. Our favorite wine from the tasting flight was the Pinot Grigio. Also, the Frose- their frozen rose was tasty and not too sweet. We did not care for any of their red wines. We tasted the two reserve wines that are only available by the glass on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. One was their sparking Vino di Lusso. It was very tasty but the bubbles were too coarse. The other was the Montepulciano Riserva - a red that was better than the others but still didn’t interest us. Again, in our opinion, the Pinot Grigio was the best and we purchased a half case which is sold with a 5% discount. I would definitely enjoy visiting here again to have a glass of wine, relax, and enjoy the view!

    Blue Ridge Mountain View
Friends recommended stopping at this small cute vineyard as they said the view and wine was worth the trip from their Lake Norman home. Stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and peaceful and quiet on a Friday afternoon. The wine was surprisingly good and the grounds are beautiful. On the weekends they said you can bring a blanket and picnic as it does get crowded. I am from the Carolinas and was unaware of this little gem.

Wines were mediocre, at best. Highly overpriced in an attempt to pay for their new facility. Customer service was definitely lacking. It’s a beautiful location, but, that is definitely what you’re paying for.

You can go right next door to Raffaldini Vineyards and have a much better experience, overall! Better wine, price point, and customer service. You do have choices. We have visited over 150 wineries, in NC alone, and at least that in all other states & countries. This Winery is definitely at the bottom of our list!

Great wine, great experience...must do activity for any wine lovers :) While the temporary tasting room may appear minimal, the wines and experience is well worth the trip! I would put this vineyard experience far above that of Raffaldini, if you were planning to visit!

I've never had this happen before, show up to a winery only to be turned away. We were there about 10 minutes prior to closing, and meanwhile their website says tastings until 6PM, but we were greeted in the parking lot by a women who told us that we could come back another day. We told her that we wanted to do a tasting and that we might buy several bottles of wine, and that we were sorry for not being there a little earlier but she didn't care. Meanwhile, within 2 days, I have purchased at least 12 bottles of wine, so the chance of purchasing wine was great. Sad, they missed out on a sales opportunity and tasting revenue.

Hi R84W, we want to thank you for raising this issue with our team. We're sorry you didn't have a wonderful experience. We've had ongoing discussions about this, and as the vineyard becomes busier, we've decided to extend our summer weekend hours to 7:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. This change is now reflected across our website and social media. Please reach out to me if there's anything else you'd like to talk about, my email is steven@piccionewines.com. Thank you! (We've also responded to your review on Google – just want to make sure we get in touch.)

In my opinion, they have some of the best wine available in the area! Gorgeous views. This place is literally right beside Raffaldini Vineyards.

We attended the 5th Annual La Vendemmia. I called the week before to feel out their policies and venue set up because it was forecasted to rain. I didn't get a solid answer, but was aware that they were aware and something would be in place.
We drove through the winding country and found ourselves at their beautiful winery. It was raining, but we were relieved when we saw the canopy tents in place and a managable sized crowd.
We checked in at the front tent. We asked the appropriate questions and were told what we couldn't do and where we couldn't go. There was no answer for where we could go. Yes, I get it. It was raining. We went inside to get our glass of wine and got a little more of the same. It was pointed out to us that other people brought their personal tent awnings. We are on vacation from Florida. We were prepared and brought proper rain gear. This is on me, but we drove 2 hours to visit and our intent was to spend the day on the property. We had come prepared and intended to stay and make the most of it in the rain.
It became clear to us that this was a local thing. If you weren't in the wine club or a local that knew whomever or had a vip ticket, there was nothing thought out for our guest experience. It lacked solutions to basic problems and was poorly executed.
We hijacked a small table out of the way, ate our food, drank our wine and left. We gave it a solid chance. At no point did we feel like guests on your property or felt like we were supposed to be there. That $150 we spent with you and our reservations was our investment in you. 3 stars because I have no intention of hurting your business

My wife and I visited yesterday and had a great time. They specialize in Italian grape varieties and we sampled quite a few. Important to us is the fact they are dog friendly and have a nice outside gazebo with views of the valley. The service was nice and we will be going back when we travel to the area in the future.

Derek did an excellent job of explaining all of their wines! It was hard to choose because all of their wines were great! Great view, music on the day we were there, peaceful atmosphere!! A gem of a vineyard!!

The view is spectacular! The wines were very good - better than we expected. They allow you to bring your own food, but they have a very good selection as well. Excellent value and super friendly and knowledgeable staff! My husband and I can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely awesome! We visited with our Corvette Club and the owner flew down to share his vintage Vette along with ours. He joined us for the visit while we enjoyed a stunning view of the Blueridge Mountains and Valley. The wines were excellent and we cancelled our next visit to just sit and enjoy the view and hospitality. Put this one on your tour. It is going to only get better.
