About
Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Swan Creek Wine Appellation within the Yadkin Valley , family-owned Raffaldini Vineyards brings Tuscan charm to North Carolina. Known widely as “Chianti in the Carolinas” Raffaldini currently produces only classically dry Italian style wines ranging from reds like Sangiovese Classico, Montepulciano Riserva, Sagrantino and Grande Riserva with the white being Vermentino and a sparking Prosecco style wine called Auguri. Raffaldini hosts public and private events throughout the year and is the definitive place for lovers of dry wines.

- William A6 contributionsGreat wine, beauftiul views and VERY help staff Martha! Our visit was very nice on a hot July 7th day. It started with an exceptionally nice greeting from Martha as we entered the front door. She walked from the back of her wine area towards us to greet us. She was charming and listened to what we wanted to do. She suggested a 2020 Montepulciano Riserva which I really liked. We purchased two bottles to take home for Christmas gifts later this year. Martha recommended an area for sitting to enjoy the views and have some shade on this hot July day. After we finished our wine and came back down stairs she was again very gracious. She is a gem.Visited July 2023Written July 9, 2023
- Su AlMorrisville, North Carolina290 contributionsWonderful place to appreciate a great wine and gorgeouse viewWe spent a wonderful time at Raffaldini. We did the tour where we learned about the history of the vineyard, the types of grapes they harvest and reason they chose the variaties they have. The property is gorgeous and the view incredible. After the tasting, we sat on their patio to relax, sip on a glass of wine and enjoy the atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting and spending some time just to appreciate the area.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 14, 2023
- Charlottean20 contributionsStunning vineyard & wineryThis is a stunning vineyard/winery off the beaten path. The building is a gorgeous stone manor and the surrounding area is lush and beautiful. The wines were delicious and shockingly well-priced. This is a lovely place for a wine tasting, vineyard walk, and definitely photo shoot!Visited July 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 3, 2023

First the good news. The building and landscaping are beaufiful. I visited with my husband, a winemaker, and a fellow winemaker and wife. I suggest if you go, just buy a bottle of wine to drink and bring your own food which you are allowed to eat in a different area. The tasting was very expensive $35 and $20. We went to four other wineries that day, and each had better wines. Also Raffaldini used to give you your glass, now they are whining about glass and bottles being hard to come by. Really? Now the bad news. Our first greeter had facial piercing and a buzz haircut and looked like she'd just come from Burning Man. Our second staff member had torn jeans and a tshirt on. I don't care how fashionable ripped jeans are, they may be nice people but their images were terrible. Also they were not friendly. In most wineries we get into interesting conversations. One of our high-end tasting wines was corked. It was brought back. The girl behind the counter opened another bottle and instead of tasting it herself, gave it to my fellow winemaker and asked how about this one? She should have determined it herself. Not good tasting room protocol.

Had seven cars, one had a 3 month old and we were turned away. I can understand if you're choosing to not have kids running around, but last time I checked a 3 month old can't run, walk, or order a drink. We'll take our business elsewhere from now on. Very disappointed in the lack of understanding and service.

I called and emailed to find out if it was ok to bring my 14 y/o daughter with us. No one picked up the phone or emailed me back so I assumed I could bring her since all vineyards I have been to in NC are family friendly. Went online and made reservations, I did not see anywhere on the website that it is only for adults and no children are allowed in the property. It did say "must be 18 or older to do tastings and drink" but that is obvious....
When we got there, after driving almost 3 hours, the guy at the door said we could not go in because my daughter was with us... I said well I called and emailed but received no answer about this. The guy said "It is on our website" but clearly it is not!
We went to Piccione and Laurel Gray vineyards, they are family friendly and have good wines.

If I could rate 0, I would. This was terrible experience. We planned in advance and bought tickets for the festival. They told us coolers were fine, as long as we did not have alcohol. We did not have alcohol, just snacks. After we arrived and got table, they then told us that we had to leave because we brought cooler. We were in the process of buying 4 bottles of wine to start. We cancelled that order and went to Piconne and Laurel Gray, which were much better. The food vendors at Raffaldini were so far away that we got halfway there and gave up. The wine was only sold by the bottle, not by the glass so that you could not even taste. Then, the icing on the cake was when we went to use the restroom, they said that no, the restrooms were only for VIP guests. WHAT?!! Who does this. This experience was awful and I will not go back. On the flip side Piconne and Laurel Gray were amazing. Go there instead.

We always loved coming here, but yesterday's visit was a bummer. We were made to feel unwelcomed immediately at the front door. "Do you have reservations?" After stating no, we were told we can't do a tasting, but could purchase a flight under the tent again if we had reservations. We clearly didn't. We ended up buying a bottle and sitting by their food truck under the trees. We did enter the tasting room to make that purchase, but boy was it clear we needed to be in and out ASAP. Additionally, at that first time at the front door, my wife needed the restroom and was politely shown an outside entrance because again it was clear we weren't allowed in that tasting room that lead to the restrooms. Overall, not a great customer experience. We were told the owners wanted to improve the tasting room experience with these new changes. Well from repeat visitors, that hasn’t worked and we’ll find another winery a little more welcoming.

We were a large group of 14 that were turned away because there were too many people in our party. We said we were fine with splitting into two groups and they said NO. The staff was rude and very disrespectful. I can’t imagine the owner wants his business run like this. We visited Piccione Vineyards next door and have a wonderful time!

Great outdoor space but that's it. Terrible customer service and experience overall. Giving them one star due to their rude staff a few weekends ago. Showed up unaware that kids (or anybody under 21) are not allowed on the premises. I find it a little absurd that they literally kicked us out before we even sat down for this very reason and acted like this place is Val d'Orcia. We called around the corner to Piccione Vineyards and they were happy to have us. Don't waste your time on this pretentious place and go somewhere else.

We have stopped here several times and members of our group are wine club members, so it's fun. For me, it's like a black cloud. I do a wine tasting, it has a bad cork and great cooking vinegar. I blame that on the servers, should have checked the cork!!!!! As far as the setting, the ambiance, and the vineyards, it really doesn't get any better. Best money can buy and maybe 1 day the wine will catch up. Or maybe, better training for the servers.

I haven't been to any of their festivals but was wondering the same. Will post the question locally and if I have feedback will let you know. The building itself is beautiful and very relaxing. When we visited last time, a local skydiving company had flights and we watched them skydiving. The area is very rural.
