About
Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Swan Creek Wine Appellation within the Yadkin Valley , family-owned Raffaldini Vineyards brings Tuscan charm to North Carolina. Known widely as “Chianti in the Carolinas” Raffaldini currently produces only classically dry Italian style wines ranging from reds like Sangiovese Classico, Montepulciano Riserva, Sagrantino and Grande Riserva with the white being Vermentino and a sparking Prosecco style wine called Auguri. Raffaldini hosts public and private events throughout the year and is the definitive place for lovers of dry wines.

I called and emailed to find out if it was ok to bring my 14 y/o daughter with us. No one picked up the phone or emailed me back so I assumed I could bring her since all vineyards I have been to in NC are family friendly. Went online and made reservations, I did not see anywhere on the website that it is only for adults and no children are allowed in the property. It did say "must be 18 or older to do tastings and drink" but that is obvious....
When we got there, after driving almost 3 hours, the guy at the door said we could not go in because my daughter was with us... I said well I called and emailed but received no answer about this. The guy said "It is on our website" but clearly it is not!
We went to Piccione and Laurel Gray vineyards, they are family friendly and have good wines.

Don't go to Raffaldini--Go to PIcconne and Laurel Gray!
Sep 2021
If I could rate 0, I would. This was terrible experience. We planned in advance and bought tickets for the festival. They told us coolers were fine, as long as we did not have alcohol. We did not have alcohol, just snacks. After we arrived and got table, they then told us that we had to leave because we brought cooler. We were in the process of buying 4 bottles of wine to start. We cancelled that order and went to Piconne and Laurel Gray, which were much better. The food vendors at Raffaldini were so far away that we got halfway there and gave up. The wine was only sold by the bottle, not by the glass so that you could not even taste. Then, the icing on the cake was when we went to use the restroom, they said that no, the restrooms were only for VIP guests. WHAT?!! Who does this. This experience was awful and I will not go back. On the flip side Piconne and Laurel Gray were amazing. Go there instead.

Great wines in Yadkin Valley
Aug 2021
Great wine with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Outdoor tasting under a large tent. Great staff that are very knowledgeable. A touch of Italy in the Yadkin Valley of North Carolina.

Poor service
Aug 2021 • Family
Had seven cars, one had a 3 month old and we were turned away. I can understand if you're choosing to not have kids running around, but last time I checked a 3 month old can't run, walk, or order a drink. We'll take our business elsewhere from now on. Very disappointed in the lack of understanding and service.

From a 5 Star to a 2 Star
Jul 2021
We always loved coming here, but yesterday's visit was a bummer. We were made to feel unwelcomed immediately at the front door. "Do you have reservations?" After stating no, we were told we can't do a tasting, but could purchase a flight under the tent again if we had reservations. We clearly didn't. We ended up buying a bottle and sitting by their food truck under the trees. We did enter the tasting room to make that purchase, but boy was it clear we needed to be in and out ASAP. Additionally, at that first time at the front door, my wife needed the restroom and was politely shown an outside entrance because again it was clear we weren't allowed in that tasting room that lead to the restrooms. Overall, not a great customer experience. We were told the owners wanted to improve the tasting room experience with these new changes. Well from repeat visitors, that hasn’t worked and we’ll find another winery a little more welcoming.

Wonderful visit!
Jun 2021
We recently took a day-trip to Raffaldini with some friends and had a wonderful time. We booked a Tasting and Vineyard Tour and were joined by another couple. Jesse led us through a tasting of some interesting wines. She even added a couple of wines to the usual list after we kept peppering her with questions about wine details! Due to COVID we had the beautiful tasting room to our group of six, since regular tastings were being held outdoors. She then led us into the vineyard to describe their holdings and the settings for the vineyards. Raffaldini is on a lovely hilltop with lovely views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The villa is also an interesting place to walk around. This was an outstanding visit!

One star is too many

One star too many. I just tried to book table for Italian Day in September. I checked Saturday once. Got ready to pay and it came up as Sunday ticket. I backed out and tried again for Saturday and website confirmed Saturday ticket. After I paid it gave me a Sunday ticket. Shady. My credit card company will investigate. After being treated with poor seating and lackadaisical service last year was trying to give 2nd chance. Shady. You will o better to go to Davaste Vineyards, bigger, better and closer to Charlotte. Tell Jay I said Arivederchi.

Beautiful Mountain View’s and scenic winery grounds
May 2021 • Solo
Entered the winery driving through rows of grapes. They had beautiful landscaping and flowers as you entered the area of the main building. Wine tasting was outside in a large tent overlooking the grapevines. Ordered a flight of wines for tasting. Had 3 different flights you could pick from. Only winery we’ve ever gone to that didn’t give you a glass to take home.

Great winery
Jan 2021
A beautiful winery and vineyard. Grounds are lovely. Due to Covid, all wine tastings were outside but in a large heated tent. Jessie, our server, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines and the history. Some of the best reds from NC we have sampled so far. We will be back when the weather is warmer and can bring a picnic to enjoy with their wines on the grounds.
