BEST VISTA THIS SIDE OF THE ALPS
Nov 2020
The perfect one-hour (round trip) meander through a magnificent meadow ascending to as spectacular a 5,600'elevated panorama as you will find this side of the Alps or Mt Everest. How's that for an earned hyperbole! Sturdy hiking boots recommended as some of the hike is a bit rocky and often soggy. If you literally want a breath of fresh air, hike up to Huckleberry Knob. Unforgettable vista, guaranteed.

Really nice 360 views.

Easy trail to hike with great 360 views. Trail is about 3 miles out and back. Can be windy. So, plan accordingly in regard to the temperature.

Worth it!
Sep 2020 • Couples
Worth the effort and worth the drive. A relatively easy hike for those who hike regularly. For those who are less fit, it takes a small amount of effort that is well worth it! We saw small children at the top, which speaks to the level of difficulty.. Sturdy shoes required, hiking gear not necessary. Campers setting up at the top was a bit awkward. 360 degree views of unspoiled wilderness in the Unicoi mountains.

Excellent moderate meandering recommended by the superb staff at Snowbird Mountain Lodge. Sturdy boots and walking stick strongly suggested.

High views
Jul 2020
A pretty easy hike, despite the high elevation. Views are nice. I was disappointed to find people camping at the summit of the hike, which was a bit awkward for taking in the views, but it was a pleasant hike nonetheless.

Amazing 360 views
Jul 2019 • Friends
This is a must do!!! Short hike from the parking lot with a moderate grade. The trail is fairly wide and easy. The trail takes up though one bald up to Huckleberry bald where you will have the most amazing views. The day we were there we had it all to ourselves and only meet two other groups as we came back to the parking lot.

Good parking and direction right at the trail head. The path is maintained and open. Plan on about 3 hours to do the full trail

Nice view.
May 2018 • Family
Due to the higher elevation, no trees had leaves during our visit in early May. The hike is easy (about a mile) to Huckleberry Knob then a mile back to the parking lot, but due to the elevation it may be wise to take a slower pace than normal. We had 4 kids under 5 years in our group and they all seemed to suffer on this hike, presumably due to the elevation. Once at Huckleberry Knob (5,560 feet above sea level), the view is amazing in all directions and I imagine the view is prettier later in the year when the trees have leaves and/or flowers are blooming.
