This gallery is split into two separate areas - the larger has generally more upscale pieces. All items are well set out and easy to access. Many of the art and figurine pieces are part of well known groups. There is a jewelry section as well. It’s easy to spend at least a half hour perusing the aisles which include furniture, art work and small pieces. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. You can certainly find something within your price range and enjoy the experience of visiting memorabilia from the past.

We moved back to the Raleigh area and visited Cheshire Cat after many years away. We remembered the store and were previous buyers. We were disappointed in the store today. It is now mostly small items and lots of records. We had remembered more furniture and larger items. We will look for better alternatives in Raleigh.

Spent about 90 minutes perusing the booths. Great selection of records and books. Very nice staff at check out. Great place to spend a rainy afternoon!

The real antiques draw in Cameron Village is the Antiques Emporium upstairs, but the Cheshire Cat Gallery has its own specialty in Mid Century antiques that's really impressive, expansive, and complimentary to its competitor upstairs. Both are well worth a visit if your inclination runs to antique finds.

I had been to this shop many times over the years and always enjoyed my experience. My husband and I were out for a fun day in Raleigh. I saw something a friend might like so texed her. No WiFi as they were in the basement. I went up to the street and sent my text. When I returned to the shop a woman was standing at the front counter either eating or smacking gum. She looked and me and said I need your purse, I asked why. She held out a wooden closepin I assume to snap on my purse, she said she had to put my purse behind her counter. I told her That would not be happening. A young woman behind me was allowed entrance, "Because You have a small bog". My purse was not big, a medium envelope Coach shoulder bag, very thin which contained cash I had just gotten from the bank and was not about to hand to this unsavory stranger. I stood there until my husband saw me as I motioned for him to leave. Another woman was standing by the elevator. She was not "allowed" in either though her purse was a medium size like mine. She said she was wating for a friend to come out but heard what happened with me as well. She went on to say she would not spend money in a store that basically calls you a thief unpon entering.
Agreed!!! This is insulting as well as bad for business. This place is obviously under new management and not for the better sadly. BTW, my friend did end up wanting that item but I too would not give money to a place who thinks I will steal. I went upstairs to the other Antiques store that was clean and well laid out, not jumbled and smelly as Cheshire Cat was. I bought a lovely vase and no one asked for me to leave my purse with them. Buyers Beware

We love antiquing. When this place first opened it offered more for us (it was mostly collectibles). As they have grown they've gone to a lot more furniture and are a bit more upscale but it's still a nice place. It's well organized. The best way to see everything is to make the outside loop first and then start going up and down the isles. The Cheshire Cat is located downstairs. There is another antique store upstairs but we never go there. What they offer is what we call "REAL antiques" and feels more like a place a decorator would shop.
