I've been following the NC Symphony for more than 30 years and the ensemble has matured into a very competent regional orchestra. Repertoire is varied and some of the programmed works are very ambitious for an orchestra of this size and caliber. Some large scale...More

I enjoyed it. We went to see a screening of selected scenes from Fantasia and Fantasia 2000. A live symphony played in sync with the movie on the screen. It was pretty impressive. The building could use more restrooms, but I am grading the symphony,...More

The NC Symphony gives excellent performances, led by a first rate conductor (Grant Llewellyn), in an acoustically wonderful hall. We're lucky - the quality is in the upper ranges of regional orchestras - higher than you'd expect. Some concerts, particularly those involving choral components, are...More

Liked the music, just have seen better. Don't know if it's the conductor or players. It's local so I will continue to support them.

If you have never been to hear the NC Symphony you are missing out on a first class orchestra. We go to a number of performances every year, mostly classical. Grant Llewellyn is a first class musical director and conductor.

I was impressed by the quality of the orchestra and that they played for me a work of quality I was previously unfamiliar with. And the acoustics of Meymandi Hall were oustanding.

The Symphony offers eclectic programming in a lovely hall with superb musicians. It is located right in the downtown area within walking distance of several excellent restaurants, so you can easily arrange a memorable night out.

The program was aimed to please children & hit the bullseye! A light, well explained varied musical slanted to Animal themes to introduce the main item: Carnival of the Animals. The youthful Dance troup did a great job to enhance the musicaltheme.
