Cool mounts
Sep 2018 • Couples
It's really neat that the owner shares his collection of mounted animals for all to see. Beth gave us a great tour with interesting stories about some of the big mounts.

Fun break

This is a great place to learn about black bears and see some interesting animals from other parts of the world. You get a personal tour. The black bear is educational and shows you some expanded areas of northeastern North Carolina. It was fun to see real animals up close. There are a couple of good touch tables. Only takes about 45 minutes. See black bears, Turkey, deer, elk, loin, cheetah and the list goes on!

Unique place in NC

The staff of this 'museum' is exceptionally friendly. I collect visits to Bible museums and attractions and enjoyed this small one. I'm not sure why the hunter who admires God's creation so much feels the need to shoot it for display thousands of miles from where the creature lived or why not just donate the costs of those hunting trips to animal preservation/to the people living near these animals. Interesting cultural icon in Eastern NC nonetheless.

This museum is full of taxidermy and fiberglass replicas of animals from all over the world. Nice shops around this area. If you are in town, stop by.

This wildlife museum is a small building with various rugs, busts and stuffed animals ranging from elephant heads to full stuffed lions.

Neat little place if in the area - free with donations welcome (recommended obviously to help support it)

The ladies working there were VERY nice! And great with our kids. Not enough of an attraction to head to Plymouth but 100% visit if near by.

The Wild Side of Plymouth
May 2016 • Family
We went with Trail Life USA to visit this museum, the Plymouth Civil War museum, Lighthouse & Maritime Museum, and the CSS Albermarle and had a picnic lunch on the riverfront boardwalk (had a tour of nearby Mackeys Ferrys Peanuts too!). The Wildlife Museum helped us plan the great day.

The animals were displayed creatively to capture the imagination of the kids, who also enjoyed the touch table. Always a great place to visit!!

NICE PLACE TO VISIT FOR A SHORT WHILE !!!

While in Plymouth I wanted to visit all the significant historic places and attractions so I came here with that in mind. I did not find any historical connection to Plymouth or to the area in general. Still a nice place to visit especially if you have children who have not been exposed to this variety of wildlife.

What an unusual place
Apr 2016 • Couples
Incredible wealth and diversity of taxidermy displays, wonderfully curated and explained.Tom Harrison, a local fellow, owns this place, met him and bought his Bear picture book. All in all, quite nice experience.
Also attended the annual Civil War re-enactment the next day....and there was Tom again, all decked out as a Union officer, giving a fantastic lecture in the local history of the CSS ALBEMARLE, an ironclad.
