I have fished with these guys for years. All the guides are knowledgeable, fun and hard working. I highly recommend them to anyone regardless of skill level.

This was my first time fly fishing. My guide, Brandon, got me able to fish right away and put me on fish all day. I really couldn’t have asked for anything else. Davidson had all the gear in great shape and fit perfectly.

Last year we fished w/ DRO on the private water, 1 guide per 2-3 people. for a couples trip - We had a great time so returned this year with our kids - The guides (Brandon, Landon, and Kelly) were all wonderful, very patient and helpful, and again despite this not being the ideal time of year to catch trout, they put us on some great fish - I even had a 1st in that a giant brown trout chased my hooked 10" rainbow and he jumped about 5 feet straight up in the air right in front of me (the rainbow) - Amazing to behold - We will be back and I don't see any reason that we should ever have to go anywhere but straight to DRO for a great time fishing - Thanks guys!

When we went, we had had only had two free fly fishing lessons from Orvis so we were still pretty “green.” Available at the store were waders, boots, stocking-foot neoprene waders to go inside your boots. Zach had all the gear, flies, etc we needed to fish. Since we had our own rod & reels, he rigged those with his flies and a strike indicator which is a bobber in my language. We went to five places, caught 5 fish—1 brown trout and 4 rainbow. It is easy to get a bite, but sinking the hook and bringing in the fish is a whole other thing. The Outfitters lease about 3.5 miles of the Davidson River not far from the store and only their guided trips can go there. There was only one other guided group there so that was nice. Zach was a good coach and I needed a lot of help. He was more patient with me than I was with myself. My advice to go on this adventure is to bring some wool socks, long underwear if you are cold natured, a change of clothes in the car, a towel and a camera that won’t die if it gets wet. I managed to go 3.4 hours in the streams without falling. However, the last place we went got me and I went down. The belt around my waist wasn’t as tight as it needed to be so I got pretty wet. I didn’t bring any extra clothing so I bought a t-shirt at the store and rode back to the B & B wet from the waist down.. We are still leaving, but learned a lot from Zach.
