What an amazing day! My friend and I went on a full day climb with Mike from Fox Mountain Guides. He was a fabulous instructor…knowledgeable, fun, encouraging and so patient in teaching us and ensuring our safety as this was our first outdoor climb! We went to Looking Glass and are so glad that we chose to do the full... More

I did a day of private guiding with Joel from Fox Mountain Guides and couldn't have been more impressed. Joel was the consummate professional, meticulously attentive to ensuring safety, and was kind, courteous, knowledgeable, and very effective and patient in clearly explaining new concepts to me. It was an amazing day! Highly recommend FMG!

I intended the 'Multi-pitch Efficiency' clinic at the Red River Gorge Rocktoberfest in October, with an instructor from Fox Mountain Guides. Overall, our group found the clinic very helpful and enjoyable. As someone who had recently gotten into multi-pitch trad I was quickly learning that efficiency was critical both for enjoyment and safety and that different climbing areas would pose... More

I've been trying to up my multi-pitch trad climbing game. I hired Cody @ fox mountain guides to teach me and coach me on my climbing. I probably learned more in one day of climbing with Cody then I have in the past four years of climbing with other folks or other classes. Cody is a super professional and super... More

My brother-in-law and I did a 4-hour class with Mike at Chimney Rock and it was a total blast! Mike was able to cater to our different experience levels (from my brother-in-law as a beginner to climbing, and I, as someone who had never climbed outside but been climbing in a gym for a few years). Mike was an awesome... More

My boys (11 and 13) did a two-hour lesson with Peter O. at Chimney Rock State Park. They had only done auto-belays and some limited belay work at inside climbing gyms...so being on the rock was exciting. Peter taught them both a lot and they got to do 4-5 climbs - starting small and ending on the larger rock face... More

I've climbed with Fox twice this year. The first time was in July (a half day) and only my second time out on real rock (I primarily climb in the gym as I am located in FL). Mike took me out to Looking glass and it was AWESOME! We climbed some routes that really pushed my abilities, which is exactly... More

Had an excellent day of climbing and single/multi-pitch trad refresher training with Anthony on the South Side section of Looking Glass Rock. The Fox Mountain Guides office made sure that I had all of Anthony’s contact information prior to the trip. We were able to spend some time on the phone discussing my climbing and instructional goals for the day,... More

I have been climbing in the Rock Climbing gym for months. I made it outside climbing prior to the class but was uneasy about my performance and skills. Joel Fluty at Fox Mountain Guides changed this for me. Joel was a great instructor providing climbing skills with a huge emphasis on safety. He has years of experience and great stories... More
