From a large park with a wide open field and picnic tables you can take this trail into the forest. There were numerous butterfly flowers full of butterflies.

If you want to hike, bird or do a beautiful, leisurely walk - this is a perfect trail for you. Pets on leashes are welcome. My experience included wonderful streams, trees and vegetation. For birders there were warblers, hawks and a variety of other birds....More

This is a nice hike in Pisgah Forest that allows either a 3.3 mile or just under 6 mile hike. There is some lowlands Marsh area and some upper Forest area as well. So there's a decent amount of topography change with a nice variety...More
