We came for the rock climbing and hiking and the park exceeded expectations in every way. Great facilities, great trails, and some amazing views in all directions. Be aware that the park is very popular and they limit capacity, so be sure to get there...More

People from all over the United States visit this attraction, many from North Carolina. The top knob sticks out and is a great photo op. Take a picnic. Spend the day hiking, bird watching, wandering. It's just a fantastic place to go.

Campsites are open year around. Although I did find out last winter that during inclement weather the affected state parks will close.

I do not know of any sites with hookups on the mountain in the park, but there is a campsite about 1/4 mile downhill from the gate with full hookups.
