Otherwise, the course is a) not visually interesting (I can remember very few holes, not a good thing) b) tough. If you can hit pinpoint approach shots off tight lies, you'll be rewarded. If you're like the other 99% of golfers you'll have a wretched round as you watch your approach shots, pitches, chips and yes, sometimes your putts roll... More

We played the course in February, which I understand is not the same as playing it around the Open, but it was a real treat and one I won't forget. The history alone made it enjoyable. You know you are enjoying yourself when you take 5 shots to get out of a bunker and don't even get mad.

Great to play the open course a few months early. Was joined by members who made the experience even better.

Risked the possibility of bad weather but using the winter Evergreen Package and got lucky. Played No. 2 on a spectacular Friday morning. First off, just a visit to the clubhouse is worth the trip. It might as well be a museum for all the history present. Make sure you visit the Walk of Fame to view those who have... More

The course was rather challenging to say the very least! It was a beautiful course, very rugged in natural elements, and riddled with difficult greens and challenging fairways. The homes on the holes were beautiful and charming, and there were a lot of creatures, both big and small, constantly surrounding us while we played. If you're an avid golfer and... More

Going to a Golf even in Pinehurst is FANTASTIC, but if you are blessed that it would be on Pinehurst @ 2. I have been going to golf tournaments in Pinehurst for a very long time. Since before the age of 17. I was thankful that I had an Aunt that worked there and her and my favorite friend(Her daughter... More

I am a single figure golfer who has been fortunate to play many of the world's great courses and had always wanted to play No2 I was not to be disapponted. The only downside was the staff at the pro shop checking me in for my round, maybe they were having a bad day but they were generally unfriendly and... More

The latest revisions to the old course has been very successful. The stage is set for the US Open in June 2014. Beautiful and extremely challenging.

Outstanding experience at Pinehurst, NC. The golf, accommodations, food and service were exemplary. Stayed at The Holly Inn. It's Pinehurst's original inn, built in 1895. Full of charm and character with a great bar and restaurant. The dining at the Carolina was as good as I've had anywhere. Try the succulent duck breast. Tasted so good I ordered it two... More

Unfortunately our expectations were very, very high. Hosting major tournaments and hearing Pete Dye say this was the best course (or his favorite) of the courses he did not design, set our expectations. The course was in good condition. The caddy (Jamie) was excellent. The course is a good one but nothing unique like National, Pine Valley, Seminole, Cyprus, etc.... More
