Stretching 7,020 yards at Par 72, this championship golf course is very green and relatively flat, with tall pines on every hole.

Haven't played #2 in years, but think traveler will find changes very interesting and challenging. VERY expensive to play, unless guest in Pinehurst Hotel, which owns Resort courses. Watch the Open and you'll see and hear all about the return to Donald Ross' links design. Domed greens, wire grass and sand rough change the deep rough and narrow fairways of... More

Played the course right before it closed for the US Opens - great walking course. Would not recommend taking power carts as it is cart path only and you don't get to enjoy the course the way it was meant to be played. The tee boxes are only a few steps from the greens so you really get to feel... More

Played #2 on May 18. Two great caddys, Gary and Marshall. It is going to be fantastic watching the 2 US Opens in June. Greens were awesome. Fairways had some winter kill, but the hot June weather should improve.

Loved that a medicore golfer like to me got to play a course surrounded by USGA tents just before the US Open will be played there. Didn't like the hefty surcharge.

the us open-- great course--- what history-- but so much extra to play not for the high handicapper unless you want the opportunity to experience the trials and tribulations the pros will be experiencing soon --

The course is long and hard. I'm not a great golfer, so that didn't help. But the starter badgered us for the first 4 holes, and we played quickly. For the money, I would not return.

We played this course 6 weeks before the US Open. The course has undergone a Crenshaw-Coore directed renovation over the past few years which has restored the course it the "original intent" of designer Donald Ross. All the rough (35 acres) which had been added over the years has been stripped away and allowed to be "sandy areas"... wire grass... More

Loved the course and excited to play it before the US Open in June. The greens were more than challenging. Good walking course and great caddies.

The cereal bowls were upside down. It was still dormant from the cold winter but still a terrific course. It will be a true test for the men's and women's opens.
