This is a very nice, clean, COLD facility. Be happy it's there and take advantage of the cool inside, or the nice, shady porch outside while you wait for the ferry. It wasn't always there-we remember when!

Great area around the Ferry Terminal. If you are early for the Ferry, you have a lot of places to look over. That is, if you are after 10 AM.

Small, but very informative. They have maps, souvenirs, and are happy to answer questions. There are also restrooms and a grassy are outside to walk dog if needed. We noticed you can also get off-roading permits here.

They sell licenses here. A nice gift shop for the size of the place. Maps, framed local artwork, fiction and nonfiction books about the area; Christmas ornaments, magnets. Very friendly. Public bathroom too.

Shows a lot of the islands history. It was highly recommended by friends who lives on the island, and although small, it did not disappoint us. Check it out!

It doesn’t take very long for a visit to this center. But the info available was appropriate to help get you on your way and the staff person was friendly.

No ferry involved coming from the mainland. Only time you would need to catch a ferry is if you were coming from Ocracoke way to the South.
