Annual Oct trip to Myrtle for golf included all 4 of the Cats this year. Area was recovering from Hurricane Florence only 5 weeks ago, all courses we ok considering the weather. Rough on Lions Paw and Panters Run was really high, lost balls due...More
I live here. Leopards is fine. Challenging, beautiful, fun. Panthers, Lion's are terrible. Tee boxes are uneven, traps are like rocks, greens have no grass, payonia spouts redirect your putts. Poor conditions of the greens add 4-6 strokes to your round minimum.
It's really too...More

We appreciate you taking the time to review The Big Cats courses. We agree that Leopard's Chase is in good condition, especially considering the brutal winter weather all the area courses were exposed to this year. Fortunately Leopard's has bentgrass greens, which are a cool...More

Thank you for taking the time to review our courses. You are correct, the bermuda greens in our area took a beating from the exceptionally harsh weather conditions this past winter and are now just beginning to recover. Fortunately the very nice weather of the...More
The course all the way from the Tee Box to the Greens was a complete travesty. They had not done any maintenance to the bunkers, fairways, or greens. The tee boxes were overgrown with weeds, the fairways were covered in weeds and even with a...More
We have a beautiful community. A great POA and a developer that is sucking us dry. Do not come here. The courses are good designes but the developer is sucking us dry! There are a lot of courses in the area that you will be...More

Paid full fare for Panthers Run, a course that used to be worth that premium. Unfortunately from nearly start to finish a poor experience now. The men who handled our bags to the carts were downright unwelcoming, and provided a thoroughly confusing experience with a...More

I sincerely apologize for your unsatisfactory experience. I saw your review of Panther's Run and asked you some follow up questions there, but I see they have already been answered here in your review of Ocean Ridge Plantation. I assure you we will address the...More
I was so looking forward to our round at Ocean Ridge Plantation and so much so that we were planning on 36 holes via Tigers Eye and Leopards Chase. Well Hurricane Matthew changed those plans so we only were able to play Leopards Chase.

My wife and I moved into Ocean Ridge Plantation this summer and love everything about living here except the golf courses. There are four courses all named after Big Cats. On Tiger's Eye the greens and fairways were totally burnt out with dirt patches through...More

Thank you for your interest in The Big Cats courses! To answer your question, we have definitely undertaken many improvement projects over the past several months. Foremost on the list was the installation of brand new TifEagle greens on Tiger's Eye! We also refreshed and renourished several weak spots throughout both Tiger's Eye and Panther's Run. Currently we are working on a cart path renovation for Lion's Paw and Panther's Run and bunker improvement for all four Big Cats! So the answer is a resounding YES! We are dedicated to continually improving our operating, including addressing any and all golf course maintenance related matters. I hope this information has been helpful and we look forward to seeing your group in September!

Thank you for your inquiry! We have different types of grass on all our courses, so I will give you a quick rundown of each. Leopard's Chase has L-93 bentgrass and those greens are in very good condition overall. Any small weak spots from the winter are filling in quite nicely. The G2 bentgrass on Tiger's Eye had and extremely rough end of summer/fall last year, but they ahve bounced back very well and are continuing to improve. There are still a couple of greens that are weak, but they put true so I don't think you will have any issues with those. Panther's Run has Miniverde greens that have begun to break dormancy earlier than expected, so they can appear a little spotty in some areas. But they also putt fast and true! Lion's Paw has Miniverde that has been overseeded with Poa Triv and they have also been dealing with the unexpectedly up and down temperatures. We fully expect all of our greens to be improving daily (as weather conditions allow) so I don't think will will have any major issues when your group comes out on March 8th. we look forward to seeing your group soon!
