I was staying in OIB & this museum was a couple blocks away & open Black Friday. This is perfect place for all generations. It is also affiliated with Ingram Planetarium a few miles away. Your admission to the museum gets you $2 off admission in same week. Didn't have time for the planetarium. The museum is divided up into... More

The museum provides friendly volunteers who help guests from young to old learn about the Carolina coast. Little ones use an I Spy book to hunt for displays as they walk through. Older children complete a scavenger hunt to help them learn from the numerous artifacts. Each visitor comes away with exposure to logger head turtle nesting knowledge, ideas about... More

We stopped by on a Thursday morning around 10:30 a.m. with our 9 year old daughter. The museum is located near the pier on Ocean Isle Beach easy to find only a block from the beach. There was plenty of parking. We were greeted as we entered and purchased our tickets with no waiting and began the tour. There were... More

We weren't sure how well going to a museum with a 2 year old would be, but he absolutely loved it. Our 5 and 6 year olds enjoyed it too. They loved the hunt that they were able to do and all the things there were to play with. Even the adults learned a few things and got to get... More

Not too big, not too small. This museum is obviously a labor of love and will appeal to both children and adults who find them selves asking "What is that?" as they explore Ocean Isle and the surrounding areas. The volunteers who run it were friendly and helpful. It was very clean and well organized. It was a wee bit... More

Took my four-yar old to the museum and she loved it! They have a cute little scavenger hunt that the kids can do to make sure they see all of the exhibits. My daughter was very engaged with the exhibits, including a touch tank, puppet theater, sea turtle video, and a few small aquariums. It is a small museum but... More

On a rainy day last week, we stopped over to see what this museum was all about with our children. The prices were around $10 to enter, so we dropped off our older teenagers and decided to just take our toddlers (twins who are 4). They really enjoyed the museum and the staff knew a lot about sea life and... More

We brought our granddaughter here. We learned about shells. There were hands-on exhibits. There was a film about the turtle hatching and their walk to the ocean. They showed all the wildlife in a beautiful exhibit. She got to put her hands in the horseshoe crab exhibit and touch starfish. There were birds, snakes, sharks and she even put on... More

Our grandsons LOVE this little museum. It's very kid friendly and they have a lot of activities throughout the year for the youngsters. They give the children a scavenger hunt booklet at admission and they have a ball looking for and find the items. The admission prices are excellent plus you can get a year round admission good for the... More
