If you are looking for an Airplane or Helicopter ride in the southeastern coastal Carolinas, I would recommend High Tide Helicopters in Oak Island, NC. They are a great group of people who know how to treat their customers. Booking our flight was a breeze, the cost was very reasonable, and our pilot was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We will be returning again for another flight soon.

Exciting trip!! My cousin 16 and I 23 did the 12 minute lighthouse tour for 80 dollars as we had never flown in a helicopter before and thought it would be fun to see the beach from above. The pilot Willis was really great and calmed our nerves. This flight would also would be good for kids with a parent present. Flights can accommodate up to 3 per ride also will also work with you on weight limit if you are a little over. We are defiantly going to save some money for the 350 1 hour ride next year!!

We recently took a helicopter tour of Oak Island and Bad Head Island with High Tide Helicopters. Not only was it beautiful and scenic to see from the air, but our pilot Willis professionally narrated the trip so we could really enjoy the history and background of the Cape Fear area. Great pilot, very smooth ride, well worth the trip!! We also met Gene, who greeted us as we arrived and departed, and made us feel right at home. Thanks to High Tide for a great tour!!!!

High Tide Helicopters provided a very professional helicopter tour that exceeded expectation. The "Beach Lovers Tour" featured a complete circuit of local beaches, Wilmington, the battleship, and the Cape Fear River. The aircraft was well maintained and comfortable and the pilot provided expert narration.

Although it was 1 1/2 drive from Mrytle Beach based on Trip Advisor reviews I chose High Tide for a helicopter tour over the 2 local tour companies. What a great decision. We took the $200 Cape Fear tour. The price is all inclusive, no tricky add ons when you get there. Only addition was our tip for our pilot which was well deserved. Our pilot, Dan, was excellent. He pointed out so many places of interest. He flew us out over the water so we could see the sharks swimming around. It was a great experience from start to finish. Also the equipment was in excellent condition. The headsets worked perfectly allowing us to communicate with ease. Well worth the drive.

I'm considering building an ultra-light helicopter but need to have at least a "solo hover endorsement" from an instructor before the company will sell me the kit.
Before today I only flew in a helicopter once for about 5 minutes and wasn't too thrilled with the experience. So obviously I needed to get another experience to see if helicopter flying is really something I can and want to do. I had a great instructor in Willis who was very clear and thorough in his explanation of the many things one needs to know. I was able to take the controls for a bit (just one at a time) to see what it's all about and the whole experience was entirely enlightening and enjoyable.
The next step is to take a few lessons to see how it goes. So this flight was not only to see if I will be comfortable in a helicopter but also to audition this operation as a good fit for my training and I'm happy to say it is, which is a good thing because it is located about 15 minutes from my house.

Jessica took us out and back to Frying Pan Tower. The ride was very scenic and smooth! She was thorough with her safety prep and gave us great views of Bald Head Island and FPT during both legs of the trip. Would highly recommend!

This is the very first thing you should do when you come to the area. You will see so much beauty you won't be able to decide where to look! Then you brain will be brimming with ideas about where to go and what to do next. Ms. Ward piloted our flight,she's supremely confident (but not cocky), highly skilled, and is full of knowledge about the area. She can point out things you will most likely miss and be oblivious to if you stay on the ground. I had so many questions and she had the answers. We picked our luncheon destination from the air and found our way there with ease now that we so much more knowledgeable of the area than you average tourists! (kidding) We felt like rich folks, celebrities even!
The chopper is immaculate and obviously very well maintained. Never once for a single millisecond was there any fear. It was thrilling !! We felt so super cool with our headsets on, communicating with each other. I did not want to land, and will most assuredly be returning to fly again!
Do not miss this opportunity, I promise you will love it!

First helicopter ride for my father and 5 year old son. The pilot was so friendly and we had an awesome experience. They way the pilot shared the details before/after and during flight was so commendable. A great, life-time memorable ride. Thank you !

Best birthday ever for my 79 year old husband! I scheduled the "Beach Lovers" 60 minute flight with the add on option for instruction. It was first time in over 50 years he has flown a plane. Dan Wilcox, our pilot/instructor, is an excellent instructor with knowledge, experience and understanding. He also is an excellent tour guide including history of the area. It was a beautiful day with perfect conditions for flying and sightseeing . I highly recommend High Tide Aviation flying with Dan!
