Wonderful History Tour

This trolley tour is the best way to learn about New Bern's history. Our guide and driver were great. The past was brought to the present in this informative 90 minute tour.

What a great way to see the town and get its history. I left the trolley with a lot of knowledge and a terrific visual tour. We got off the trolley at 3 stops briefly but is mostly a seated tour. $18 I think this was my favorite activity in town. Tremendous deal!

What a delightful way to begin our time in New Bern. The open air trolley and a very knowledgeable guide welcomed us with a fun, historic and passionate overview. The beauty, historic stories of the homes, architectural features, history within cemetery and "what's happening now in New Bern", reinforced our joy in being in this fabulous town. Everyone enjoyed the... More

On a day when the temp. was 99 deg., what can be said other than it was hard to breathe. However the driver and the tour guide were excellent. They provided more information than i expected and were very good with communication and everyone learned much about the early days of our country and the individuals who helped form our... More

Our Trolley Tour guide, Kathy, was terrific. Using show-and-tell props and a chatty, story-telling manner, she introduced the history of New Bern, pointed out historic buildings, took us to a cemetery and inside a church (which has a "Vinegar" Bible), and gave us lots of details about the town. We highly recommend this tour ($10). One small note: the tour... More

One thing about New Bern you soon learn when you arrive is that there is a lot of history. Taking the Trolley Tour is a great investment of $16 and 90 minutes. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. She kept the tour going and was able to answer long questions without losing her focus. The tour pretty much covers... More

we purchased our tickets via the website before arriving. As busy as New Bern was we were the only guests on the trolly. We had a private tour! Phyllis our tour guide was filled with information and we learned a lot. Such a shame no one else chose to ride the Trolly that day.

As described: "Beary Merry Christmas Tour Celebrate the Holiday season with a 60-minute trolley tour through the downtown historic district highlighting the Holiday decorations our downtown merchants are showcasing in their windows. The tour also includes a stop at the Aerie Bed & Breakfast for storytelling and a tour of this beautiful 1882 Victorian home." Well. First I want to... More

Touring the beautifully restored homes and the reconstructed British governor's mansion is a gentle and really informative experience. The docents are amazing. Their knowledge is comprehensive and they guide you as personably as you might have dreamed a southern lady to be. The other 'players' (cook and serving maid) are equally gracious and extremely knowledgeable. Even the security guards were... More

John Gaston White did a great job bringing colonial New Bern to life. We were with a group from all over the state and everyone was so amazed and interested It was a great representation of New Bern! Very informative and a great prelude to the Palace.
