Most interesting Main Street. You can walk up and down the road and see shops from Andy’s shows. Very quaint and eclectic. Great variety of shops. Super great for a stroll on a beautiful day.

A fortuitous find. Not on my itinerary. A place to drive by. It turned out to be a gem. A treasure. A delight down memory lane. A television series in the 1960s, “Mayberry R.F.D.”, was based on this small town. The star, Andy Griffith, was...More

We walked from the Andy Griffith museum to downtown area, only a couple of blocks. Lots of interesting shops and businesses along Main Street and several places to eat and get treats. Were at least three ice cream shops. We had lunch at Snappy Lunch.

I could have stayed here all day, but we were driving home and didn't have alot of time. What a sweet town. Loved the fact that so much has been maintained true to smalltown shops. Was so awesome to see the Sheriff's Car parked on...More

Great place to visit! Relaxing town and very friendly merchants. Good places to eat and also a suitable jumping off place to go to nearby attractions like Hanging Rock Park, Pilot Mountain, and Jeb Stuart Birthplace in VA.

Downtown is such a nice place to walk the streets, and go in and out of the shops. Love to visit, hope to go again soon.

Some may be, but I;m sure most are closed on Sunday. Best time to go would be a Saturday.
