The Andy Griffith museum and Mt. Airy was our trip destination. We were very impressed with the museum, we enjoyed our visit. Not overly crowded, within walking distance of downtown and other attractions and shops.

The Mount Airy Visitor's Center is a good place to stop if you need ideas for places to see or a map to help you figure out where everything is. The staff is really friendly and helpful. There are also restrooms available.

A wealth of current and historical information provided by enthusiastic history lovers with a good sense of humor. A great place to start enjoying downtown Mt Airy and Surry County. The historical museum was well worth the visit.
