Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since evolved into a winery owned by two families with one vision. Our vineyards were established on farms that have been in our families for generations. We hope you enjoy the culmination of our dreams, our devotion to our farmland, and our passion for our wines produced at Old North State Winery. Most of our wines start out as luscious wine grapes grown on Yadkin Valley North Carolina family farms. We are the Old North State Winery, Inc. located in Mount Airy, in the headwaters of the Yadkin Valley AVA. Wine, beer and fine foods are our passion and our legacy.

We ate at ONSW and had a delightful dinner prepared be Chef Chris . The starter was Muscles in a light tomato broth with a hint of butter. Second course was a butter lettuce salad with lightly fried oysters and mango chutney. Our main course was a braised pork on a bed of succotash. For dessert sweet potato sonker and... More

This was my second visit to this winery. Food is great, wine is good. Don't ask for a wine tasting though if there is a DJ...the bartender won't do it. The downside is you go to a counter to order your food. The food is great! Probably won't go back as there was a fight on the front porch the... More

The name Old North State Winery & Brewery does not completely describe this location on Main Street, downtown Mt. Airy, NC. It is also the only arguable five-star restaurant in the downtown area. Inside the building, there is a bar/gift shop on one side for wine tasting, etc, and a deli-type restaurant on the other side. However, the excellent white... More

The food this lunch counter puts out is simply amazing. This is my favorite lunch spot in Mt Airy. Everything is prepared with quality ingredients. The service is excellent. The winemaker flatbread is delicious.

Easy to stay for lunch and dinner, while walking Main St in between. Plenty of food options to suit your wine tastes. Seating for larger groups, or high top by the bar. Gift shop limited to T's, polos, Tervis and hats.

Plenty of room to park and walk around town as well as see the winery. The tasting was fun and we chose a few bottles to have on hand to share with guests who visit "Mayberry".

We didn't even know they served food and offered an extensive beer selection. Pleasantly surprised by the service and quality of food!

Terrific winery. The vineyards are not on the property but the aging tanks are on sight. Great wine selection and food. Their cheese platter went perfectly with a glass of wine. The people were very knowledgeable about their wines. Had a great time!

We dropped into Old North State Winery for a couple if glasses of wine. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. They recommended a delicious white wine that we enjoyed outside. Regulars and locals kept us entertained with local stories and we made new friends. Food is served (though we had already eaten). They had sushi, sandwiches, etc. We will eat... More
