Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since evolved into a winery owned by two families with one vision. Our vineyards were established on farms that have been in our families for generations. We hope you enjoy the culmination of our dreams, our devotion to our farmland, and our passion for our wines produced at Old North State Winery. Most of our wines start out as luscious wine grapes grown on Yadkin Valley North Carolina family farms. We are the Old North State Winery, Inc. located in Mount Airy, in the headwaters of the Yadkin Valley AVA. Wine, beer and fine foods are our passion and our legacy.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Old North State Winery. We arrived late afternoon for wine tasting. Our tasting was handled by Andrea who was just fabulous! We tasted six different wines and enjoyed a delicious snack of pimento cheese and bacon on toast points - so good! Later in the evening we enjoyed dinner at Old North... More

I enjoyed dinner here. The sirloin steak was cooked very well. Cheap bottle of wine on a Tuesday night. Atmosphere dark but not dark enough you can't see.

Our host was fun, knowledgeable, and attentive. I did the semi dry and dry tasting and my husband did the sweet tasting. There was a nice variety in each tasting and we really enjoyed it. Bought 6 bottles!

I've been a fan of ONS wines for a while, but had never been to visit the winery. What a great time!!!! We planned a Girls' Day to Mt. Airy where we enjoyed a tasting and delicious lunch at ONS. Our server, Derek, made our tasting so much fun. He provided great information about the wines, made food suggestions and... More

Went to ONS Winery with girlfriends, and had no idea what to expect. Derek greeted us at the wine tasting bar, and walked us through all of our tastings, asked our opinions and tailored his talk to our answers. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine (bought a total of a case between the 3 of us), stayed for lunch (the cobb... More

So we were a 2 families of 4 with kids. One family got excellent service and food the other not so much. My sister in law is gluten free and they gave her nongluten free bread. Their food took forever to come to the table. Ours came fast and was excellent. Staff seems to be struggling to get it together.... More

We ate at ONSW and had a delightful dinner prepared be Chef Chris . The starter was Muscles in a light tomato broth with a hint of butter. Second course was a butter lettuce salad with lightly fried oysters and mango chutney. Our main course was a braised pork on a bed of succotash. For dessert sweet potato sonker and... More

This was my second visit to this winery. Food is great, wine is good. Don't ask for a wine tasting though if there is a DJ...the bartender won't do it. The downside is you go to a counter to order your food. The food is great! Probably won't go back as there was a fight on the front porch the... More

The name Old North State Winery & Brewery does not completely describe this location on Main Street, downtown Mt. Airy, NC. It is also the only arguable five-star restaurant in the downtown area. Inside the building, there is a bar/gift shop on one side for wine tasting, etc, and a deli-type restaurant on the other side. However, the excellent white... More

The food this lunch counter puts out is simply amazing. This is my favorite lunch spot in Mt Airy. Everything is prepared with quality ingredients. The service is excellent. The winemaker flatbread is delicious.
