Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since evolved into a winery owned by two families with one vision. Our vineyards were established on farms that have been in our families for generations. We hope you enjoy the culmination of our dreams, our devotion to our farmland, and our passion for our wines produced at Old North State Winery. Most of our wines start out as luscious wine grapes grown on Yadkin Valley North Carolina family farms. We are the Old North State Winery, Inc. located in Mount Airy, in the headwaters of the Yadkin Valley AVA. Wine, beer and fine foods are our passion and our legacy.

If you are looking for wine, this is probably the place to go. But we just wanted a nice cold beer. They don't have a large selection (I think there was 5 different types) but they did have a good example of each type they offered. We didn't have time to sample their food.

My wife and I had lunch here on Saturday December 26, 2015. We had the fried oyster salad and the vegetable plate (collard greens, mac & cheese, succotash, and tomato pie). The meal was authentic in every respect and cooked to perfection. the oyster salad was great--oysters cooked plump and juicy on a bed of spinach greens with bacon and... More

We recently visited Mt. Airy and this restaurant was highly recommended by some local residents. The menu offers many gourmet type foods as well as simple fare. It was all delicious. The employees are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed sampling different wines and beer with our dinner. The ambience is that of a modern upscale restaurant, but the employees... More

While shopping and combing the streets of downtown Mount Airy, my friends and I stopped in for a beer or two at the Old North State Winery and Brewery. We had just eaten lunch so we passed on the great looking food to just have a couple of craft bottled beers and enjoy the surroundings. The main floor has a... More

We were exploring Mount Airy and saw this place. we had been Visiting many Wineries over the last few days so decided to try it. Neat place with nice Character with an interesting back story. Some very good wines to try. It was right at opening on a Sunday so we had the place to ourselves. Very pleasant tasting.

The young lady behind the bar was amazingly knowledgeable and made the experience fun. Did I forget to mention the wine? It was superior.

Very busy weekend, so we couldn't have wine tasting, but the Sandwiches were wonderful. The deserts are all homemade except the cheesecake. While they no longer have the brewery, they do have some very good local beer on-tap. Very pleased that stopped for lunch!

Wraps and flat bread pizzas are out of this world. Love the sweet wines and the Fish Hippie brand. My kids enjoy going as a treat. Live, free music on Thursday nights and other special events periodically. Check them out for great atmosphere in a small town.

It is nothing like I have been at before. You order your food cafeteria style and they deliver it to your table....But the food is first class instead of cafeteria! Tender beef, succulent shrimp, fresh greens. Unusual food and very flavorful. We were greeted by Zach who answered our questions about wine and he and Ashley (at the bar) helped... More
