Enjoyed visiting The Mooresville Museum. They have a growing representation of actual artifacts, photographs and documents from when Mooresville was incorporated to recent history. Good information on the town for both visitors and residents alike.

I volunteered at the museum one Saturday for a few hours and enjoyed looking around at the displays. I just feel there are bound to be more Mooresville history goodies around in the attics or basements of some of our old homes that would be so appreciated if shared in this setting. Perhaps they could also lead ghost or history tours. I would love to know more about the history of Mooresville.

The Mooresville Museum is a great place to learn about the history of Mooresville and see the amazing changes that have taken place in this town. From stories of the once booming manufacturing industry to the county Sheriff from Mooresville, you can see it all.
A volunteer staffs the museum and he has done an outstanding job of acquiring items for the museum. Coasters with photos of the town are available for sale.

We tried to visit on a Thursday during their posted open hours, but they were closed. There was a sign saying closed, back at 12:50, but no one returned to open the museum. Disappointing because we were looking forward to learning more about Mooresville history. Therefore I recommend you call before you visit to ensure that they are open.

It is a great way to learn about the history of Mooresville. It is a wonderful place. It is run by volunteers so the hours are posted and they open for extra hours when they can. I have been there several times and it is amazing.
