A group of friends & I booked an escape room for 4:45pm several days in advance, showed up at 4:30, and were told by staff that they'd accidentally double booked and that we could essentially go f ourselves. No refund offered, just a way later (7pm) room that was completely different from what we wanted. The "free hour of axe throwing" offered...was at 6:30!! Wow, way to make a first time guest want to NEVER come back. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Paid $40 each for 4 kids for all day pass for unlimited play on 5 activities. They didn't tell me one was broken. Then didn't let me sub for another game. $160 and 1/5 of the games was not even working. Thats a lot of money for not even trying to accomodate. Not a fan. And half of the arcades don't work.

We initially just went there to go mini-golfing because my daughter really wanted to do that and it was the only place open, but we ended up staying for much more! It's a fun place with so much variety. The go-karting is exhilerating. There were a few games that ate coins and didn't work. The place isn't really a nice place to look at, but that's ok. The mini golf is under black light, and is kind of, um, in need of a fresh coat of paint and new blacklights. Your kids will have fun though!

The most fun experience had by all. This is our second year bringing our youth group to The Pit and they enjoy it each and every time. The staff was amazing, from Emerald who helped with booking and Julia that handled all the particulars checking us in, she was so cordial. Everyone thought Brody was the BEST and he worked quickly to get us all to race together. We will be back!!

Oh, where do I begin... The horrible pit in/pit out system? The bad tempered employees? Nah, I'm a driver, so let's focus on the real problem here: The track itself. The Pitt calls itself the longest gokart track in NC, but in reality, it is simply the MOST BORING go kart track in NC. Because the layout consists of nothing but straightaways connected by high speed sweepers, any driver worth his salt can hit insanely high speeds with little effort. To fix this "problem", the owners implemented speed limiters/governors on the karts. (I suppose there's some irony that this track, located in NASCAR central, has it's own form of restrictor plate racing)
So if you're even a moderately skilled driver, you will find yourself buried in that speed limiter almost THE ENTIRE COURSE. Literally, there's two places you might wanna brake, and a third you might wanna lift throttle on. The rest of the time, it's pedal to the metal, with the most bonejarring vibration from the engine slapping the limiter the whole time. (No soft touch on this rev limiter) Naturally this makes passing almost impossible with skilled drivers in attendance, and you must resort to more forceful means to get around another driver. At which point you will be promptly flagged and persecuted like an early Christian facing Roman Legionaries.
My suggestion is, if you're a driver, go to Victory Lane Karting in Charlotte. If you're the owner of this terrible track, go to Victory Lane Karting, Rush Hour, VIR, CMP, where ever, and take notes on how to design a race track correctly. Believe me, you don't need speed limiters if you lay out the track correctly. What's more, there'll be less contact if karts are unrestricted and can pull off a pass that doesn't consist of divebombing a braking zone and slamming your opponent up against the wall.

This place was dark and dingey. It's a creepy warehouse with arcade games and go karts thrown inside of it. I've been to a wide variety of go kart tracks and even worked at one. This was the most expensive and least thrilling experience I've ever had at a go kart track. I couldn't physically drive the karts because they were so damaged. Go Pro motorplex is right around the corner, cheaper and an awesome, safe experience.

We are running new Biz karts for adult and youth that have proven to be fun, reliable, and safe.. Our track lighting was replaced last year and is brighter than most tracks I have visited (over 30 indoor tracks). Our pricing is below GoPro Motorplex and is in line with all the other indoor tracks in the country. Our facility is housed in a textile mill that sat empty for over 17 years and is now being enjoyed by over one hundred thousand people a year. I'm not sure why you felt it necessary to trash The Pit when we strive to offer a fun and affordable experience to all our customers. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your experience, but it wasn't necessary to post incorrect information about us.

I Scheduled a Team building event @The Pit for 2 departments at my job and they LOVED IT! They got to enjoy racing, The Axe pit, laser tag and lunch. I heard nothing but how great of a time they had and how much fun it was.

I wrote a long review and then deleted it. I’ll keep it short and sweet: DO NOT GO TO THE PIT.
They make you watch a go-kart orientation video for safety (which makes sense) and remind you not to run into each other. However, when aggressive drivers get on the course and smash into people ALL DAY, they are not asked to leave- despite damaging other go-karts and hurting other drivers. Worst experience of my life (and I love go-karts!). Tried to talk to management, but their excuse was that those drivers speak Spanish and don't know not to ram people...!?!?
We had to leave since my back and legs were hurt and I was experiencing straight trauma. We had been there 30 minutes. Fun date with my husband=ruined. No refunds allowed they said, and radio silence when I contacted the owner. There goes $70. At least they gave me a coupon for next time ((eye roll)).

I have not been contacted. I can be reached at 704-799-3470. The manager made me aware of the situation. She told me that she spoke to the other group in Spanish and told you she had done that. There were 12 karts on the track in your race, and more than just the group in question. The track marshals pulled one of the drivers in and warned him during the race. There is invariably contact when a large group is racing that are not experienced. We look for aggressive driving and intentional contact when monitoring a race. I have reviewed the video from the race and would be glad to discuss it with you.
We do not offer refunds when a customer has completed the race. You were offered another race for you and your husband with no one else on the track, as well as comp cards for both of you to come back another time. You declined both offers.

Do they still require intrusive screening registration for kids using Facebook?
Written January 15, 2018
We've never required screening registration using facebook. All participants are required to sign safety waivers. Participants under 16 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver. It is a one time registration. You don't need to repeat it each time you return.

They don’t base it in height. As long as they’re 8 years old
Written January 29, 2018
Youth must be 8 years old and 48" tall. Youth and adult karts are not on the track at the same time for safety. Adults do not need a driver's license, but must be 16 years old with proof of age

How long is a single race?
Written September 5, 2017
The cost depends on what you'd like to do. Our pricing can be found on our website (Trip Advisor won't permit me to copy the link for you).
Check out our July specials for good deals on our bundles. We look forward to seeing you!

How long of a wait would you anticipate for go kart racing for 1st time visitors on Friday July 3rd? What time of day would have a shorter wait?
Written June 28, 2015
Yes, you can just walk in. No reservations are required, nor is there a training certificate required to race, jus the safety video. Youth and adult karts are not on the track at the same time, we alternate the races. For 13-15 year olds there is a class they can take to race with the adults (maybe what Susan E is referring to). The class is 2 hours and given when we are closed to the public. If you are just visiting, it isn't worth the cost for a weekend of racing.
The best time to get here is at 11 when we open. It will take about 10 minutes to register and get through the purchase process. There is a 3 minute safety video that all new drivers must watch.
I wouldn't anticipate a long wait if you are here early in the day. In the afternoon and evening there may be a 30 minute wait. Some of it depends on weather. If the weather is bad, more people come in. If it looks like there may be a wait, take advantage of our Pro bundle and play laser tag, black light mini golf, cannonball air blaster, Spin Zone bumper cars, the climbing wall, or just hang out in the arcade until your race. You don't need to wait in line to race, you are assigned to a race when you check in.
We look forward to seeing you.
