We thought the list of wines at Lazy Elm looked interesting. It's small, not a fancy tasting room. The servers are friendly and enthusiastic about their wines. They have a good variety of wines and the wines are good. Prices are very reasonable. We look forward to going back later this spring.

It is very rare to taste all the wines of a vineyard and not be able to pick out a winner among them !!The all were well balanced & easy to drink!!Great job !!!

We were here on Saturday - we were visiting our Niece that lives in the area and she just turned 21 this past March- so wine tasting was one of things we were going to do on our visit. So Lazy Elm Winery was on our list to visit - and so glad we did - the tasting was very well done and we were pretty impressed with the wines that NC can produce - we bought a few bottles to take back with us to Ohio. Chris was very personable and made my Niece's first wine tasting very pleasant. We will be back!

Excellent place to visit. We were lucky enough to have the actual winemaker. Since it wasn't too busy he took us for a tour of the facility. We ended up sitting outside for a few hours enjoying the family's company.

If you like good wine at a reasonable price you will have a hard time doing better than Lazy Elm. Not the fanciest of the NC wineries but one of the best. Along with the wine, the staff is very knowledgeable and enjoyable. As to the wines, their Cab Sauv, Montepulciano, and Dam Yankee were our favorites. As to whites, we were very surprised to find that they had a Vermentino that was very good. We will be back to taste their great wines again.

We went up to the Lazy Elm Winery last Saturday with another couple for a wine tasting. Chris, the winery’s owner, personally poured our wine. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and very friendly. The red wines were really very good and the Port was exceptional well done! We enjoyed our time there and would definitely go back!

The wine here is all made by hand. You can definitely tell the difference. The reds are very smooth, and not at all tannic. The option to stay on the dry side or to venture off into a sweeter vein is very nice. I fell in love with the Sweet Apple. It is like drinking an apple pie. The reds, every one of them, are fabulous as well. Super nice folks, you gotta try it!

Friendly guys, I arrived right at closing on a Saturday evening. I was greeted like a family member. Awesome tasting and super incredible dryer wines. I'm sold! I have been to 128 wineries in NC, Lazy Elm is in my top 20 favorites for taste and quality wines. No fancy dressed up gimmicks just great 1at class wine.

Located in a small metal building. Wines were just ok. Nothing fabulous. Server was cool and the winery attracted a younger crowd than most winieres.

If you need a fancy tasting room, an overly commercial atmosphere, or a hard-sell wine club, you might want to keep looking. However, if you prefer a genuine and pleasant wine tasting experience with lots of personality, visit Lazy Elm in Mocksville. Accessible from either Interstate 40 or Highway 421, it is easy to locate and seems more rural than it actually is. Our group of three tried it on October 3. The $7 tasting featured ten wines and a complimentary glass or alternate coaster, if like us, your shelf is already full of winery tasting glasses.

With the exception of a Sweet Apple Wine and Port-style dessert wine, all the wines are dry. The list includes both varietals and blends. I particularly like the Cabernet Franc and Damn Yankee 2012 (Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon blend) as well as Dry Rose and Selfish (Port-style dessert wine). Our tasting was conducted by a personable and well-informed staff member who gave us her undivided attention. Owners Lou and Chris were on site and chatted with us. The property has a little bit of a young look to it, but will mature to a lusher look in the coming years. This is the type winery that makes it so fun to support the North Carolina wine industry.
