This is for beginners. I went white water rafting one other time in Colorado. This was level 2/3. Easy. We unfortunately had to pay for a 3rd person (we had 2 in our party), due to covid/their business is prob down so have at least 3 people because $50 per person is reasonable but $75 was a lot for only being on the water for 1 hr. We arrived at 130pm and left at 4pm. My mom's first time and she liked it but wanted it to be longer. We paid for a two hr trip but was only on the river half the time... Everyone I talked to on the same bus also agreed it was too short. We should raft back to the spot. The water was a bit higher due to rain so that is why our trip went faster. The staff was nice. Not pushy on giving them ratings or tips which I appreciated! My mom had a good time with it being her first time and had no idea what to expect!

Look no further you have found the company to go with!! Our whole experience was AMAZING! From the check in procedure with Wags we were treated like family. Their instructions are perfect! We did the full day with lunch and they thought of everything. They had a staff member paddle down ahead of us to take photos of our group. I assumed you bought the photos individually but you actually buy a thin drive with all your photos. So don’t hesitate to ask them to take a few during your lunch break. During the last class 4 rapid, Frank’s bells,!everyone in our group went overboard! We all were fine! Their safety briefing was spot on, watching a video and then going over in person with Wags. Our guides, Angela and Nathan were great. Before Frank’s Bells, Angela went over everything that could happen with us and what to do. I’m glad she did because it all happened. They were quick to check on us and make sure we were ok. Definitely will be going back!! Photos were reasonably priced, depending on size of party- ours were $35 for the thumb drive for 4 of us and there was no pressure at all to buy.

I can't say enough about Blue Heron! My wife and I had a blast! It was exciting but we felt very secure in our guide's professionalism. Our guide, Leslie (sp?), had us quickly trained to work together so that everything went really smoothly through the rapids. Every big victory for us ended in a "high five" where we raised our paddles to celebrate.

We did the lunch tour where we pulled off on a sand bar and all the guides from the six boats in our group set up a table and served us all sandwiches, chips, etc. A simple lunch, but really good after a couple of hours on the water.

All the Blue Heron folks were friendly and excited about having a great time, but you could tell they were all doing things the same way and making sure we were safe. I highly recommend Blue Heron Whitewater!

We had a great day on the river with great weather! We did the half day with lunch down the French Broad River. Our guide, Jordan, was great!! He was very professional and personable and made us feel comfortable on the river, especially the kids, aged 10 and 11. Jordan was very knowledgeable of the area, history and the names of the rapids. The rapids and water level was great for the kids and beginners.

The lunch provided was great and filling - we truly enjoyed our time and highly recommend the tour!

We went on the senior float tour with our family and 4 year old son. It's a nice float down the French Broad River and a few small rapids to paddle through. A great introduction into being on the river. They also include a waterproof camera and download all the pics to a thumb drive (included in the price). Thus, saving your phone from possibly getting wet or lost. All in all we would do it again."Wags" was our awesome guide. He allowed my son, within reason, to play and have the time of his life during the float.

Perfect morning of whitewater rafting: this was a fantastic first whitewater experience for our 9 and 11 year old daughters: just enough excitement without anything stressful (or that required more muscle than they could muster). We even got "stuck" on a rock, which was one of the most exciting parts of the trip! Our guide, Josh, was awesome: great energy, super knowledgeable, and excellent with the kids, getting them to hunker down in the front for some whitewater splashes and being sure to get plenty of paddle high fives. The scenery on the French Broad was gorgeous, and we loved the stops at the jumping rock and "swimmers' rapids. Great lunch on a scenic beach + they even had a mini cupcake and candle for my husband's birthday! Highly recommend...we will be back!

Went on the full day raft trip today. We had never rafted before. What an incredible experience! Our guide Sidney was great and taught us a lot. At the Class IV rapid near the end of the trip we got stuck and she guided us through calmly. You can purchase pictures that they provide on a flash drive. We are all raving about this trip. Highly recommend Blue Heron Whitewater!

We were excited to try whitewater rafting for the first time and chose Blue Heron because of the great reviews. The actually experience of navigating our raft through the rapids on the French Broad was enjoyable, and the company on the whole was great. However, we had a personality-clashing issue with our guide, and one incident in particular felt a bit like throwing a wet blanket over the experience, snuffing out the fun of it. I would still tell friends to use this company, I would just suggest requesting a different guide.

While visiting Lake Lure, we took an hour and a half trip to Marshall to spend a morning with the crew at Blue Heron. Our family signed up for the half day trip with lunch. Kiana was an excellent guide, sharing her knowledge and fun tidbits about the area. Everyone at Blue Heron was friendly and accommodating, but keeping safety a top priority. Even just the half day tour had our group ready for a nap when it was done. Totally worth the money for this experience of a lifetime. Thanks for the memories, the photos and the fun!

In search of a safe place to have some sort of vacation, our son-in-law found Blue Heron. Not only was the trip down the river amazing, they took exacting steps to make everyone safe and separated. Cannot say enough good things about this company and the lovely river experience they gave us.
