If you're looking for a Utah or Colorado ski experience, crank down the expectations a bit. However, if you just want a fun day out on the hill this is a great place.

Loved our visit. First time snowboarding so we did the group class. Worth the $22 if for no other reason than to learn how to stop!

Average ski for south east coast. AM snow was pretty good but undeniable ice as day progresses. Can get very crowded and the lifts can turn very challenging due to a mixture of less experienced skier vs more advance.

Only 2 Negatives: (1) Way on the top of the mountain. Steeeep drive. Not really a negative, just a reality you need to know. (2) When it gets packed it is almost unbearable. We were there on a holiday weekend so it was packed with...More

We stayed at the A Holiday Motel that is off the main strip close to the road for Cataloochee. Older motel that has been remodeled, very clean and warm, but no hot tub on site.
