We've traveled and hiked the Smokies and Blue Ridge for the past 3 years and after a few dozen stunning mountain views, they all start to look the same ... until Linville Gorge. It's just indescribable. There is nothing like seeing the Gorge for the...More

This is a non attended facility, but well kept. It offers several nice views that will take your breath away. You have to drive through a non paved road that I would not do with a small car. Will have no issue with an SUV...More

Beautiful views. The road can be tricky and washed out at times. Especially if it had rained recently.

This is one of the most amazing places. After a short walk on a paved trail you come to the most amazing views. Beautiful panoramic of Hawksbill Mtn., Table Rock, the Chimneys, and Shortoff Mtn. Down below you're looking at the Linville Gorge in both...More

Wiseman's View is about four miles past the Linville Falls Visitor Center on the rim of Linville Gorge in the Pisgah National Forest. The road is remote and unpaved. It will make you think you are lost before you get there, but the panoramic view...More

Drove up to Wiseman's View Road and hiked the short distance to the overlook. It is our favorite of any natural vista that we have seen in either North Carolina or Virginia while traveling down through the Blue Ridge Mountains. Simply stunning.

Road down was a little sketchy and steep for our compact rental, but we made it. Glad we did, views were amazing. Easy paved path down and 2 spots to look out & take amaZing pics.

After a 4 mile drive on a dirt road we arrived at our destination. 4 wheel drive helps but is not essential. Views were amazing from several look out areas. Great spot for a picnic.

Went there on a cloudy, early Fall Saturday. It was busy, but not annoyingly. There are several lookouts at the end of a mostly flat paved walkway from the parking lot. This is handicap accessible! Views beyond compare based on the ease of getting there....More
