I came up here with a couple of friends, ready to hike. I seen a picture of somebody standing on a rock and definitely wanted to see that View. This is that you :-) it takes about 5 minutes to get to and is wheelchair accessible. We was ready to hike so we went to the bottom of this view,... More

We stopped here on the way to Asheville and it was a highlight of the trip. The walk up took about 45 mins and was rewarded at the top. The last street h was really steep and a bit slippery with the leaves on the rocks. Once on top all was forgotten. The views were amazing and it was very... More

We have hiked this trail for years, and it never gets easier. From the limited parking area you'll start the hike with moderate effort... But as soon as you see the little sign about midway, Oh it will change. The trail becomes more difficult and strenuous to the summit. Once you arrive at summit, prepare to have your breath taken... For me the trail started out easy to moderate. The farther it went the harder it got. Pretty good inclines a lot of the way but it's short. Took 40 min to the top. Walking across the top was scary to me but gorgeous views. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We had driving directions to the trailhead but still had to stop once to check and then also missed a turn. Once we found the parking area and trailhead, it was pretty easy to find our way to the summit. Apparently the trail route has been changed somewhat recently so the old trails are blocked off with brush. There were... More

I have been doing this hike for 25 years. As a native of NC it is still has the best views of any hike I have ever done in my home state. It is a little hard to find, but a Google search should get you some good directions. There is parking for maybe a dozen cars. Go during the... More

Easy start but the last incline is tough grade, however, it's worth it! The 360 degree vistas are simply amazing! There are two areas at top, both worth your time, easy to find trail to each. The trail that splits to the right has views of Eagles soaring!

The day we hiked this trail, it was horribly hot & humid but very enjoyable with a good sense of accomplishment!

A place everyone should see, magnificent views of a very rugged landscape. A bit of a challenging hike, but well worth it.

I love hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway and in the Boone / Blowing Rock area. This is the BEST view of any hike I have done. 360 degree view at the top looking many miles in each direction. Great view down into Linville Gorge and you can hear (but not see) the falls in the distance.
