Table Rock is certainly a wonderful addition to your bucket list in NC. Located in the Linville Gorge northwest of Morganton, the mountain can be seen from other peaks such as Grandfather or Mt. Mitchell. Be prepared for a steep and rocky climb. There are...More

What a beautiful place to witness incredible views, 360 views of western NC. Bathroom area and plenty of parking too. The Rhododendrons are in bloom in May so the landscape is perfect for photo opportunities. You'll get a chance to take in some fresh air,...More

We like Table Rock for its unique formation which is easily identifiable from the parkway and other vista points. Yes, the hike it fairly strenuous and you must negotiate some loose rocks but the visual treats at the top are worth it. Bring water.

The hike from the parking lot to the top of table rock is rather steep but the view is worth the hike. The trail is well maintained and easy to follow.

The views from the top of TR are simply amazing. The hike is moderate and fine for young kids. The 360 degree views are spectacular and unbelievable! I highly recommend the hike. On the climbing front, the rock is good quality and TR has routes...More

Very narrow road up. Seems to go on forever. Very steep. Dont look down lol. One lane traffic with fee places to turn around. If you dont like heights this is not the place for you. If your a dare devil its a must.

At the base of Table Rock, in the Table Rock parking lot/picnic area, is one of the prettiest places one can be. It is actually on a ridgeline. From this parking lot, one can hike South to the Chimneys (flat, easy hike), then hike further...More

The views are spectacular. You drive for roughly 30 minutes on a dirt/gravel switchback road. Hike is strenuous, but doable. Just at the start of our decent we clearly heard a large lion that was not too happy.

Unfortunately you can't. From the park lot to the top of Table Rock its only a mile up from there. It's beautiful up there. It's not a stressful walk up there.
